Great video ! The pair turned out really nice! If you do a 360 welt can you omit the rand and just add the sole over the filling material?

I think that when you glued the heel stack you forgot to prep sand each layer , or could have been left out in the montage.

I really admire the attitude of just deciding you want to make shoes, and then making it happen through trial and error as you go. I lost a lot of time building basic skills in leatherworking by not wanting to make any mistakes and watching way too many videos before making my first cuts. I am making my first pair of shoes in a few days.

Hey, Thank's a lot for your video. I trained myself in leather working as a hobby for a year now, and my goal as initialy to make my own boots. I'm finally tackling this goal, but I'm struggling to understand some steps. After watching 14 hours of cobbling videos (I watched this one five times and it brought an explanation to most of my interrogations). The last thing I can't figure out are the nails in the heel cap (~ 17:00). They seem pretty long, how is it that they don't go through all the leather slices and in the last ? I mean, that would be quite inconfortable to wear 😅. How do you do that ? Once again, very grateful for your content and love your creations

The nails would have to go through the thick outsole and insole, those nails don't look like they are long enough to get through the insole. His last may also have a metal plate in the heel which would crimp the nails over and secure them to the insole without poking the wearer.

Is there a structural reason to carve out the arch section? Or is it just aesthetics?

Do you still sell the cartridges by themselves? Website looks like you are only selling the kit made with Weaver leather. I have a tattoo machine, so I don't need the whole kit.

Good overall quality, but i felt jipped , u blasted thru thr co struction of the heel block, then at thr end there wasnt a presentation of all thr hard work. It just ends... lol i like watching these types of videos

Just ordered the kit from Weaver. Can't wait til it gets here. I plan on using it in conjunction with my traditional methods. BTW congrats on your association with them. I was wondering if they carry the large beveler cartridge yet?

I wonder if there are any heavy duty post bed machines because I was thinking it would sew a little bit more heavier than it does also . I have a class 4 for heavy stuff but it's not a posted for those hard to sew seams. This one will kinda only due light weight leathers well. you can push it a little but you have more headaches .

I don't understand two things. What happened with nail holding insole? It stay under corc or it is not shown in video that it was removed? Those "big head" nails, doesn't it pierce insole and hurts a foot?
