I understand the whole comparing it to the rog ally but they are completely different devices and when you evaluate the claw on its own its much better than the steamdeck and people still recommend that. I got mine for $269 and for that price its a steal

I recently bough MSI Claw bec its waaayyy Cheaper than its competitors. Good handheld for on the go that only plays light games. Also the speaker on this device is Top Tier! Im loving it so far

Speakers are so much better than my Legion Go, and I'm running AAA games off of a micro SD card that are running smoother than my Legion Go, I only bought it because my Go was out for repair, so was going to return this when I got my Go back, but I have it back now, and thinking about selling my Go for more than I paid for this on sale

I’d say the plus of having the Msi claw is that you have Hall effect joysticks and better speaker sound , the battle is still graphics on this and driver stability it should be more powerful than the z1 extreme but hindered by low power , which the z1 extreme is very good at working on low wattages, but games are getting better to run on it

@ if you have the core 5 it does perform a little better than the core 7 but not by much it’s very power hungry so has to share out the cpu and gpu which starves it of power, it has improved a lot you won’t be disappointed but it’s still a cpu designed to do 65watts

@@Jonnyd05 yeh I have the ultra 7 it seems to be okay with what I'm playing I've got cyberpunk 2077 running at 35 fps locked and it's holding it well I feel like I have alot to learn with tweaking etc but thank you for your answer ! Is there away to run the claw at 65 watts or was that a dumb question?

@@timsamuels4551 no worries and unfortunately it’s only able to reach 40 watts in manual turning in the app, yea there is a few settings to tweak in bios that does help

The cpu has too many cores which is stealing power away from the gpu.

Did you just not update it or something, i have the 7 and im not having any of the issues you mentioned, currently playing indiana jones and bo6 and everything works great for me, also you could've just used the left stick to scroll up and down on the overlay menu and you can turn off the rgb's in the settings if you don't like it. I can't believe you on it getting hot ive had this for months and it doesn't get hot unless you were placing your hands on the top were the exhaust vents are. Seems like your negativity of this is over exaggerated because its not a rog ally.

Or perhaps you have just this and don’t compare it to everything else in hand as frequently as I do. The user experience on this is not nearly what the Ally provides for the same cost

I am an admitted steam deck fanboy having been mostly steam or Xbox ecosystem for quite some time. I do have some time for Nintendo gaming and I still have an active PlayStation subscription for now. Sony taking VR seriously is about the only reason why I still buy their stuff. But I've got to say I've yet to see a handheld that makes me want to move on from the steam deck. The rumors of the portal were interesting until it came out to be something that I have zero interest in... And now the rumors of the Xbox handheld are no longer rumors.. I don't know where I'm headed but I can say with great certainty that the claw seems to have just completely missed the mark in this space. I've yet to see anyone make a solid case as to why you would buy this over any of the other options.

Yup. Every other handheld has some arguments. Steamdeck is better if you're into emulation/older games that don't require the extra power. Rog Ally is better if you want to play the latest AAA titles on a handheld, VRR, the X is better if you want the best battery life on a capable handheld. Legion Go is better if you want a bigger more immersive screen, fps mode, detachable controllers. The MSI Claw, as you said, has nothing. The Rog Ally is headed in the right direction with their X model and enhanced battery life. I hope we'll get to see 4-5h worth of gameplay out of most handhelds in the next 2-3 years. And if xbox releases a handheld im gonna sell my rog ally for it straight up

Don’t know if it matters but Sony is just now starting to roll out actual streaming for the Portal, though it’s tied to their PS Plus Premium service. But this will cut out requiring the PS5 to run to stream.

I had an Ally and LCD steam deck. I sold both as the Ally was going to have the SD card problem and Valve released an OLED steam deck. So now I have a Legion Go and the OLED Deck. I never use the Deck because I got a 4060 egpu for my Lego and it works brilliantly. I'm tempted by the Claw on sale at €499 (Ultra 7, 1TB model)...it has a thunderbolt port so my egpu will work on that too. Decisions decisions...

I’d avoid it. You won’t like it compared to your LeGo, having tried both in rapid succession. Or do what I did and buy from somewhere that offers free returns
