I've had this controller for like half a year now and love it. The only problem I had was lag on the PC version, which I ended up resolving by just resetting the controller + updating it again on the PC app. Has held up better than my actual Switch pro controller, and being able to switch between modes and have the controller immediately pair + work on the new device is so nice. If you're a multiplatform gamer I think it's a better deal than other controllers.

This is definitely my go-to pad for 3D games... I'm a stick guy myself but I find this controller to be so insanely practical that I will often opt for it out of preference even when I would probably otherwise enjoy using an arcade stick a bit more for the stuff that only needs two degrees of movement... A strong part in that thought process comes from the fact that the D-Pad on it is even more Nintendo like these days then... Well... Nintendo... 😅

I have been using mine for months and it is a big improvement for cable space, travelling and switching to both PC and Switch control modes fluidly. It has an added benefit to simultaneously connect the controller wirelessly while using your bluetooth headphones for PC gaming. The rechargeable battery can run for days in 4 hours of daily play time! It was worth my money.

Received this today through Amazon. Was delivered about 40 hours after ordering at no extra cost and was $20 CDN cheaper than a PS4 from Wallmart. I found XBox and PS4 controllers both suffered from stick drift after 2-3 months of use, because they use a potentiometer mechanism for x, y, directional rotation. In games like Elden Ring, stick drift means death. So far I am impressed. The surface texture reminds me of a military yoke my friends and I adapted for PC years ago. It was nonslip in case a pilots hands were contaminated by sweat or oil, and like the 8BitDo Pro 2, was constructed from materials of high quality with outstanding structural integrity. The easy access replaceable, rechargeable battery is unique, and a long overdue feature in any wireless device. If it lasts long enough that I have to replace the battery, like my Acer Predator Helios 300 laptop has, I will probably invest in the company.

I really wanted to like this controller. I was excited for it to arrive today, but after only an hour of play, I’m sending it back. There are a couple small things I don’t like, like the indents in the dpad getting in the way of quick movements. I could lean to adapt to this, but those sharp ridges on the body under the triggers are TERRIBLE and made this a non starter. After only an hour I already have the start of a bump on the side of my knuckles on my middle fingers. Without the ridges, I would give this contoller a 4/5 because of the rough dpad. But those ridges make it a solid 0/5. Damaging your fingers make it a fail.

As someone with larger hands and a preference to the PS layout, this controller really appeals to me. You mention that the battery is rechargeable, but no mention how to charge it? Via a USB-C cable, separate charging dock, etc. Looking at their controller manual, it looks like it can be used wired which is cool if maybe the battery died it's not dead weight. Would have liked a close-up on some of the oddball buttons [Home, Star, Profile] to understand better what they do or are for. Appears that the Bluetooth adapter needs to be purchased separately, though I wonder if it works with a generic BT adapter if you have one of those. All that being said, great review. My old gamepad controller for PC [Steelseries 3GC] is on it's last legs and this looks like a great replacement

I have an older edition of this controller, the SN30 pro+, and I can confirm that it works just fine without a battery on both Switch and PC. Something broke inside and it no longer receives electricity from any battery that's placed in the battery compartment, but I took the battery out and left the compartment empty, and I now connect it to the Switch or PC with a USB-C cable. (Do note, to get the best performance on Switch, you should go to Settings > Controllers and Sensors and turn on "Pro Controller Wired Communication". If you don't do this, the controller will just receive power from the cable and still connect to the Switch wirelessly, which is redundant.) I could perhaps find fault with the controller for the fact that the battery connection broke after only about three years, but the fact that it so easily works without a battery at all is a huge plus.

Without a doubt highly recommend, my only negative is not waking up my switch. That’s about it, my other comments are nitpicking.

regarding the battery, can we remove the battery and use the controller wired? i much prefer a wired controller for less lag but having the option for a wireless is also nice

@@TechSpaceCowboy I'm thinking of buying the controller for PC/steam use, so I hope it can plays well without battery cos I'd hate to break the battery fully charged all the time >

In my opinion, it is super hard to like how this feels in your hand after using the dual sense. My hands aren’t even that big and they swallow up this controller.
