Gooood, so the next video is going to be 5 reasons…. but the other way around 😅. Looking forward because I've got me an A6700, very pleased, and I also bought the Ulanzi cooling fan. Although, didn't need to use it at all, yet. Four straight hours of livestreaming inn4K using Auto Framing, worked flawlessly. 😊

@@frostgodx Must be a faulty unit. For the record, my 6700 kind of died just yesterday after an hour through ZOOM for some reason. I turned it off and on again directly, all fine for another 1.5 hour. The camera wasn't warm at all so.. dunno. But I'm happy with mine.

I want to vlog for KZbin & take pictures for my Instagram as well I’m undecided on what camera will work best for me sense I want to do both video/photos But I hear the a6700 over heats but I don’t plan on consistently shooting for a hour straight all the time just vlogging then turning it off so idk if that wil affect me & my content but which one you think would be best?

According to tests I've seen, fx30 in did has 14 stops of light, but a6700 due to noise reduction that can't be disabled films only 12 stops.
@PhillipRPeckАй бұрын
I'd be pretty skeptical of whatever tests you're referencing. The FX30 has internal NR as well that can't be adjusted or disabled. And typically, NR will reveal MORE dynamic range rather than less. That sounds like wishful thinking or fanboys trying to burnish the FX30's reputation or bona fides as a real "cinema" camera. If you want to get around the in-camera noise reduction of the FX30, you have to shoot ProRes RAW. But that comes with a hefty crop
@MikAlexanderАй бұрын
@@PhillipRPeck Hi, thanks for reply. I was referring to those charts with dynamic range. For example CineD Lab tests. Looking at a6700, it is 12 stops, while when I found the chart for fx30, it shows 14 stops. From there I just scanned the web for what people are saying, and saw that some people say it is because of noise reduction. However maybe registering image on external recorded is the case for 14 usable stops. Reason I'm looking for more info is that I just bought a6700 but still have over a week to return it to the store if I change my mind. But frankly fx30 is a bit outside my budget. Regardless, I'm not that guy who's not happy because camera has stop less or what not. I just like to maximise what I have.
@PhillipRPeckАй бұрын
Ah, I see. I just checked Gerald Undone, who has the same DR tests as CineD and he got exactly the same results from both cameras. So ... who knows? I really think you'd be hard pressed to find any meaningful difference between the two cameras when it comes to image quality, even if Sony is applying different NR internally (which I don't think it is, but I have no way to verify). I'd say, if you chose the a6700 then just enjoy it and make the best images you can with it by understanding how to expose it properly. There's always a "better" camera out there and a new one will come out next year anyway. It's a never-ending cycle of FOMO

@@PhillipRPeck Agree. I got really good results out of slog3 on a6400, even when so many people where moaning about it. But had to upgrade to 10 bit finally to get more vibrant colors.

If you're filming full shows or sets, I'd definitely go with the FX30. Don't have to worry about overheating and the dual slots gives you redundancy or relay recording

I have better audio options (32bit float) than the FX30 handle, but for compact use purposes, I wonder if it has the connector for Sony's digital microphones?

Not quite! It’s decent but the second base ISO in Slog 3 is 2500 on the FX30 vs 12800 on the a7SIII. That’s a huge difference

@03chrisv Жыл бұрын
You can always put a T1.05 lens on the FX30 and basically double its low light performance while simultaneously getting a more "full frame" look and excellent depth of field. It may still fall short to something like an FX3 but it definitely closes the gap to where the difference is negligible in certain scenes and nothing that post processing can't fill in. Remember the lens is more important than the body, and understanding how to light your scene is more important than either the body or lens.

Sure-agree, but...1. I love photography and am now just moving into videography a bit, so I needed a camera that is BOTH. 2. I already bought the sony a6700 :). I agree that if you are JUST into VIDEO then this is a good camera. But MOST of us want some level of flexibility, and the a6700 is simply way better than the fx30 for BOTH.

Hey there, in how much time you recorded and edited this video ? using what camera?
@PhillipRPeck10 ай бұрын
Hello. It's been awhile but probably an hour or two to record the talking to camera, a couple hours to film the b-roll, and a working day to edit. I filmed the talking to camera with the Sony a7SIII and the Sony 35mm f/1.8 and the b-roll with the a7SIII and a couple different lenses--probably the 35mm f/1.8, the Sony 20mm f/1.8 G, and the Sigma 105mm macro
