Huawei P30 Pro | One Year Review | Still good in 2020?

The Huawei P30 Pro is one year old so here's my long-term 2020 review of one of the best flagship smartphones around. Not to mention the brand's last major handset to boast Google services. From the versatile and dependable camera tech to the solid battery life, the Huawei P30 Pro still feels pleasingly fresh. And this mobile can happily cut it with the latest flagships like the Galaxy S20 ad Pixel 4 in many areas, even if some features like the screen refresh rate and general specs have been improved upon elsewhere.
I still rate that camera as one of the best of any Android phone in 2020, thanks to the excellent photo quality in almost any conditions. Plus, that telephoto lens is hard to beat. Huawei's EMUI 10 software is a delight, even if some of the Mate 30 Pro features are missing in action. And battery life is still excellent, easily lasting the day with heavy use.
Of course, the new P40 handsets are just around the corner most likely, which will mean discounts for the P30 Pro if it comes out in the UK. So are you tempted by this blower, or have you been using it for yourself? Give us your own review below!

I'm nearly one year in with the P30 Pro and it still feels like a new phone. I really hope Huawei gets things cleared up with the US so it can get Google services back. I don't want to have to go with anything else when I upgrade.

Lack of knowledge in the tech sector makes people think that no Google means buying a phone with 0 access to Snapchat, KZbin etc. A little bit of research would lead one to the app gallery, quick and easy sideloading and information on the fact that huawei is working on its own access to these apps

Hurmmm actually S20 Ultra has 4x optical periscope zoom. The 10x zoom are hybrid. And yes, P30 Pro is still a relevant flagship choice in 2020. Like most people said here, except SOC, its indeed already year ahead compare to others.

Samsung s20 ultra does not have a 10x optical zoom. They claim it's 4x though I would not be surprised to hear if it was actually less. Been using the p30 pro for over a year now, played with the s20 ultra to see if it was a decent upgrade. The P30 Pro still blew it away

Although I'm using Lite version it is freaking amazing! Battery life lasts whole day with few minutes of resting, charges upto 100% in 50 minutes. Camera is amazing, night mode really does it's job. My recommendation is to buy P30 series ☝️🔥

Till Saturday I had mate 10pro, but on saturday I got p30 pro. I love it. Mate 10pro is still in use after 2,5y,battery good for whole day of light work and playing. I see the difference on p30 pro. It is new phone so I start using both phones and same apps, mate10pro goes to 97% after 10min but p30 still holds 100%. Will see after some time.

Go get it, even almost a year on everything still feels snappy and new! You'll find the cameras usefull in most situations ! The battery life easily last a day too. 30mins charging will last you a day. For 400dollars it is great too!

Well, my upgrade was from P20 Lite to P30 Pro. There is difference, but still the cheapest P20 Lite is a good phone. P30 Pro had bigger screen, it is a little bit faster, pictures are amazing with AI, battery is holding almost 2 days, supercharging is fantastic, it is heavy, but I can handle better.

I love this phone. Bought in May 2019 and honestly, just like you said: feels like new, battery didn't age, cameras are still superior. I'm only kind of annoyed with other, "bigger" tech reviewers on KZbin constantly praising Samsung, iPhone and One+ mobile devices. I get it: they're good smartphones like s20 ultra or one plus 8 and iPhone 11 pro max but the prices are horrendous, even one+ flagship is expensive and I can add Huawei p30 pro was one of the most exciting device released in 2019 (if not most exciting of the previous year). Btw emui10 have already many features which will be released in android 11. Charging is incredibly fast (0-100% in 70 minutes) and battery level dropping down slowly. I heard about new super hyper extra ultra fast charging, like full battery in 37 or less minutes but now I can't hear anything. I guess its just BS so far.

Samsung support has a short life span as well so wont get another. P30 is about £400 so maybe tempted ovee the pro. Off to rome end of april and will change before then

P30 pro is a fantastic phone indeed. They were the first to introduce 50x zoom on a phone. It is a stunning phone in terms of specs and outer design. Proud being a p30 pro user. I switched from pixel to p30 pro and to say it is absolutely worth it.
