For many complaining about camera, keep in mind there's been only one small update since release, with future releases I'm sure software will mellow out....even if not this is android, there will be custom roms and apps to run that will do all and more than what people are asking for. This is a great piece of hardware

Thank you for this review. Now in 2024, I can finally afford one as the price has dropped substantially so I purchased one. I live in the Philippines, the selfie capital of the world, and quality selfies as well as group selfies are possible on this phone using its rear screen and great rear cameras. The two phones I has in the past that allowed this were the Vivo V17 Pro and the ASUS Zenfone 8 Flip. The V17 Pro had popup front main and ultrawide lenses plus flash, which gave great results. The phone resources eventually became dated so I replaced it with the Zenfone 8 Flip, which literally flipped the 3 main rear cameras and flash to face the front. I t was awesome for selfies and especially group selfies, but unfortunately the camera died within a year.

it's not the best. it trades blows with S21 ultra but S21 ultra wins in camera/video. it's not cheaper than S21 ultra. in EU it costs €1,200. more than S21 ultra.

Can't wait for MIUI 12.5, i saw battery tests with that version, it adds hours if battery life. Also the camera isn't that great for now because the global Mi 11 Ultra is stuck on the firmware MIUI 12.0.3.0, while they have the 12.0.9.0 in China. The global firmware has a big problem with Auto HDR in photos, you need to turn on manually the HDR ON so it doesn't make underexposed shots. It's fixed in China.

Hi there... Just to share with all of you ladies and gentlemans pertaining to the Mi 11 Ultra. Let me be very honest, I had bought it a few days ago and used it for 1 solid day of full useage. And this is my honest review. 1. The camera is super and my rate is 3rd to all smart phone's out there. 2nd will be Oppo findx3 pro and 1st will be Huawei P series and Mate series. 2. Battery wise, Huawei 1st come's 2nd will be Samsung S21 Ultra 3rd Mi 11 Ultra and 4th Oppp. The issue will Mi 11 ultra is that the claim is globa version but the fact is it's totally not. Certain settimgs are still in chinese version and not all downloaded from playstore are supported. Lastly sensitivity sometime it does not respond at all. Honest review.

My final opinion on this phone is. It feels slim and light compared to an Apple iPhone 13 pro max. It does charge very quickly over 67 watts on wire and it seems to be fast at most tasks. For me personally though you cannot beat the software of Apple over long term testing.

So what's the reason for the front facing camera then? They could have done away with it if it's not needed. It spoils the full screen. And face unlock isn't a necessity. It just seems to add more truth about what Snowdon said about the cameras.

The front is great for zoom, Meetings and other such apps. Higher than 1080p is not needed for those apps and in fact better due to latency and better performance over data. I think most consumers use the front camera for video calling, I never take selfies and it is not a big thing in my circle of cohorts. But if you love taking photos of yourself then use the rear and the second display. It sounds like a sensible well thought out feature set.

This is still on an old version and there has been at least one major update, the phone will not be out until the end of the month in the UK. Bearing in mind the s21U Exynos still has issues, 2-3 months after release and has only just been updated to improve low-light video you clearly do not understand that phones take time to get right and if you really are concerned wait 3+ months after release before buying any phone!

in camera/video the S21 ultra wins. it shoots wider footage, better colors, better in low light(Mi 11 Ultra is kinda yellow in low light), selfie doesn't overblown the background, zoom is better. in order for Mi 11 Ultra to have the same quality as 100x zoom of S21 ultra, zoom has to be at 60x. after this zoom the quality gets worse than S21 ultra.
