I think people are referring to zoom mic capability of the iPhone. the microphone is directed or more focused at a far distance if camera is being zoomed which is the reason it is weaker/softer/muffled

For me honor won this comparison... Need to say that in Germany honor 200 pro cost now 649€ with a 100w charger, headphones and a latest Gen smartwatch... And 512gb iPhone 15 cost about 500€ more with no goodies at all. Crazy!! Thanks for this comparison though!

But 699 euro with all this benefits is midrange, 300-400 euro is not midrange it's best in the starter like Xiaomi 13T

in terms of video, I like the more contrasty look on the iPhone, handles exposures better as well I think, and looks flatter on that Honor because of it. iPhone portrait pretty much sucks in terms of look, feels a bit out of focus because of it's approach> Stills, depends, but the iPhone does sharpen way too much for me on some shots

Honor 200 Pro mic quality is miles better than the Iphone15! The quality of the Honor's portrait mode is so good!!! the resolution, the edge detection is impressive. Note that IPHONE's portrait mode has a distance requirement for that Bokeh effect to kick in. If you get closer or further away from the subject the bokeh effect won't be visible, while in android phones you don't have that! hehe Selfie video and camera is better on the Iphone. Overall HONOR takes this one. Great review as always!

I'm quite embarassed with my previous comment about Honor 200 Pro being so expensive with SD 8s Gen 3. The 8s Gen 3 actually has 3D or game performance similar to iPhone 15s because the iPhone throttles after several minutes. then again, average person wouldn't notice the photo/video quality differences and one could get a Redmi Turbo 3 for a fraction of the price of these two phones.

How much better IP15 is in everything: details, no facial 'beautification', stabilization, AWB, exposure, black crush, colour balance, dynamic range and so much more is just sad. Honor is sometimes better by NOT over-saturing some primaries (esp. reds) and it does more smoothing (less visible noise, loss of details) with low light. That's about it. Yes, I like the Harcourt modes, but they are clearly processed. I can achieve the same in LR/PS with my own tasks. Honour/Huawei have still some catching up to do. And I'm NOT an iPhone user nor Apple fan.

Сan you please make a review of smartphone cameras in RAW? I don't know why nobody does that To find the most potential instead of looking at overdone and overprocessed jpeg's that photographers NEVER use. Oppo 7, Vivo 100, Pixel 8 Pro, iPhone, Samsung, bring all the big guns to the test some landscapes also in the evening where we can see how much details preserved from the original capture of the censor!

Main reason is there is too much room for bias if I was to edit one better than the other? And I cast a poll on Twitter and only 6% of people use pro mode and like 2% RAW. So making a RAW test that only 2% of people would be using isn’t worth it. However I do agree with you just most people never use Raw.

most phones would make a shitty raw in difficult lighting condition, the only reason phone photography has become decent in the last few years is thanks to the processing that you criticize. Of course photographers don't use that, but you know what photographers also don't do? Shoot with a small ass sensor and lens. Just try to take a shot in dimmer light at a slightly higher iso with a slightly longer exp time with a phone, no amount of Lightroom can fix that mess
