Mi note 2's Display should not be a deal breaker to anybody because one plus 3 also has same kind of pentile Oled panel,but very few people have complained about that,most of the people won't notice that...And though Ips is sharper than Oled panel...still Oled is better than Ips in color reproduction, contrast and saturation...And Oled is the future of smartphone display technology,even iPhone 8 will also have this kind of Oled panel.....And despite having little bit lack of sharpness in display and the graininess in low light camera,I can definitely say Mi note 2 is the best phone and best offering from Xiaomi till date...what do you think about that?

***** I know pixel and s7 edge has great battery life despite having 2k panel,but may be their Battey optimization is better...Whatever I want the best battery life on a smartphone and I am sure mi note 2 will be the king of Battey life in any flagship...and that's for the 1080p panel....2k is fine...but 1080p is more than enough for most of the people unless they use vr headset...and battery life is much more important than having 2k panel....I know if mi note 2 had 2k panel,it still had great battery life for 4070mah battery,but for the 1080p panel,you will get at least 2-3 hours more screen on time...that means you don't have to charge the device within 2 days...which is great for a smartphone...So for me 1080p is enough even in 5.7 inch display and battery life is more important to me than having 2k panel...

***** What do you want to say....Now I am sure that you are Sammy fanboy...s7 edge has only better camera and better display...The performance,the software,the speaker,the audio quality,the battery life is better on mi note 2...and most importantly miui is 100 times better than touchWiz for better looking,better optimization,better customization and overall better performance...how much samsung optimize the touchWiz they can't be as smooth as miui....if you haven't used them,than you can't understand....and s7 edge is much pricier than mi note 2...even it is priced as same as mi note 2 in somewhere,still I will choose mi note 2 as my daily driver than s7 edge...because the simple fact is that performance,software stability and battery life is much more important to me than camera and display....I have used lots of samsung device earlier, my experience was horrible and I can't tolerate the touchWiz anymore unless they optimise the software properly like xiaomi did in miui or huawei did in emotion ui.....

You can't just think about price, you gotta think about resale value too. Flagship Samsungs have a huge used market, Xiaomi? hardly any outside China. Dual-SIM is IMO the biggest draw for the Xiaomi if you're comparing the s7 Edge vs the Note 2. Virtually all Samsungs in the West are single-SIM, because of carrier subsidies.

Great detailed review! Special mention for the review on the internal audio, which a lot of reviewer just seem to miss or outright avoid. Pretty sold on this phone if it ever gets Nougat. Far as I know, it still hasn't right? Not sure why so many manufacturers take so long updating to the latest OS. I'd prefer it already be there when I buy the phone, or be ready to installed when I get it.

It will be getting Nougat and MIUI 9 according to Xiaomi. I always like to check call quality after all it is a phone. And also 3.5mm quality as I hate 3.5mm jacks with static and hiss. And there are plenty that have very poor audio out.

Gearbest sells 6/128 Gb version for just $290 with a coupon right now. I wonder if it's still relevant in 2018, since I'm tired of using 3 Gb MIUI smartphone and watching lost messages or apps that won't start until you clear the memory first. I mean, Mi Note 2 looks like a wonderful phone that manages to under-impress in almost everything :D AMOLED beautifully curved screen that's not bright or sharp enough, same camera with a budget ZTE phone and very small pixels.. Then again, buying Mi6 with a screen from 2016 (literally, same matrix same manufacturer) and a camera that's worse than on Mi5s is a gimmick too. Maybe I should just wait and lose more messages, idk :D Anyway great reviews, Chris, I go back to them even years later.

I think the 5,15 screen is perfect for me, but I like the premium feel of the note 2 Note 2 has all 4G bands which is a plus but otherwise MI5S is on par with Mi note 2 .. 64GB/4GB model, the 6GB/128GB model there is two version I think. One standard the other global. In Spain I don't have an issue is my LTE is 1800 I think it is, I always get 4G on my Chinese mobiles I review. But US/ global travelers users should check it out before buying in detail.

Daylight it takes a detailed photo, i would say my S7 edge still has the best quality, but it's not bad.

In daylight,mi note 2 is just as good or better than s7 edge in some situations and when you zoom in mi note 2 is definitely better than s7 edge...but in lowlight s7 edge is lot better in auto mode,if you want the best result from mi note 2 in low light,you have to turn on the auto HDR mode or flash or tweak around in manual mode....But I think in daylight and articial light,mi note 2's camera is more than capable and more than enough for a casual photographer....

yes, sadly the lack of 4G LTE might be a real dealbreaker but i really I love this one and it has a reasonable price aswell. I finally went AGM mostly because previous experiences but also, their bands are more compatible with my needs (and the A8 is incredible for its price :O )

Because of the headphonejack i am thinking buying the global version, of this phone. Is it worth it in 2018? I am not into gaming so this processor is more than fine for me. Yes,contrast,saturation and color reproduction is much better on Oled panel than Ips....,this type of display is used on Lg's 4k tv,which is best in class....May be Techtablets has got defective unit...I can be wrong also...and may be Ips is little bit sharper than Oled,but 90 percent people cann't notice that...Techtablets is among the 10 percent.... I will obviously prefer Oled panel over Ips panel for better saturaton,better contrast and better color reproduction.....

Yes blacks almost as deep as my S7, colors also very good. Just not as sharp when viewed up close to say an IPS with the same resolution.
