New airport is called Mopa airport which is in a very remote place in the north. You don't have much public transportation facilities. Rent a car approved by Goa government is there but its quite costly and not much in number. We had to wait for almost 2 hours to get rent a car

Mopa Airport is in fact, more nearby than the Dabolim Airport if travelers have to go to Calangute or north Goa. It's close to NH66, a 6 KM elevated road is coming to connect it with NH66. From there Mhapsa and Panaji will be more easier to reach.
