About the mic its all about the selection of the mic because unlike wired earphones/iems where you have specific dedicated enclosure for mic enclosure for the earpiece and mic is the same inside TWS so they have to pick mic made out of silicon chips which are smaller but the quality well you know where as you have button sized proper microphone inside the wired earphones almost like having an lav mic onboard.Tho I could be wrong too but as a musician myself i love to discover new things like this so let me know if anyone have a better answer for this.❤

And if you are buying this one I would recommend you to buy an extra pair of Foam eartips so it won't hurt your ears in long listening seasons + more effective noise cancellation.

I had KZ EDX bought for INR 2000... Changed my perception of audio quality, even after upgrading fron a sennheiser.. After 3 yrs of daily heavy use including in-helmet use, the wire broke off. I bought the Bluetooth attachment from KZ and turned it into a neck band but the power output was halved and audio quality suffered. As i don't have a 3.5mm jack on my phone i had to stop using my beloved KZ. Miss them sorely..

Using a FiiO JD1 x Headphone zone Type C IEM from more than a month, I can say it's my best experience I ever have (I use Apple music subscription). This Type C version has inbuilt DAC chip for optimising audio quality. Shockingly a 1699/- IEM supports Lossless Audio with frequency support upto 24bit 92Khz ( DAC chip effect). Even the bluetooth buds which costs around 10k can't support this. Definitely a worthy shot for audio lovers instead of spending thousands on earbuds...!

I have used few normal earphones which sound as good as these low price IEMs. DAC DIGITAL TO ANALOG converter. Our normal devices has DACs but very low quality.They also come at very low price these days but useless if you don’t have high end IEM. I think you can go for IEM but DAC is useless.

Mate just get the KZ ZXN Pros and you’ll be golden. If you want to get the full nugget experience, go for a cheap DAC as well. I’d recommend the Chord Mojo. Comparing IEMs to AirPods is pretty stupid though. AirPods are about convenience, not necessarily the best sound quality.

I bought moondrop chu 2 dsp after seeing reviews like this. Honestly, i still use my airpods most of the time. There is no massive difference in sound quality in my opinion. The mic quality is much better on the wired earphones though.

I gave my airbud to my brother after buying 4k IEM. IEM is for true music, not some tuned or bass boosted device. Airbud or any other buds don't compare to good headphones or IEM. Also for those buying the IEM, use the music player that could play in higher bit rate like proton player. It's really surprising to hear the underlying music layers that you miss out with air buds or any other cheap earphones.

You cant really compare Airpods and IEM as they have different functionalities. I have been using the KZ ZSN Pro since a very long time even before IEMs became cool and switched to Airpods Pro 2 last year. IEMs mean in ear monitors and are used for monitoring tracks, so they have a much more detailed sound signature but sometimes it can be a little too harsh for casual music listening and daily use. APP2 has a wider sound stage, less detailed than the KZs but amazingly balanced sound signature + you get a lot of features which will become your priority once you start using them. I used to think that having a lot of details is what makes a track more enjoyable but realistically its the balance that makes a song enjoyable and Airpods pro 2 gives me that.

These are called KZ Castor (Improved Bass Version) and they do not have a Type-C output. Get yourself these and a DAC/AMP (Audiocular D07) and you'll hear details that you've never heard before. You can buy this IEM at Headphone Zone or Concept Kart.

About the mic quality: I think the difference is due to airpods trying to do noise cancellation processing, while the other one doesn't have it (noise canceling mic & algo) and is just sending the FULL audio recorded as-is, hence sounds fuller/real but airpods will win when the test is done in noisy backgrounds.
