This is how foldable phones should look like, current foldable phones only good for multitasking, because for example if you watch a movie or video on them, then the video itself won't be bigger than on a regular phone screen, but on a tri-fold phone it will be bigger.

I have being using smart phones since i was 19 and i am 40 now and i have never, even once, dropped my phone and i am very easy going and don't use things with extra care and use them casally and i am currently (still) using my galaxy note 8 since December 2017 when i bought it and its totally scratch less not even on the sides. So it amazes me when someone says that they (not talking about you of course) dropped their phone.

You don't need to drop a fold or flip phone, just for a few months. No matter how careful you are the phone screen will have a problem by itself. For a flip it will cost $500, for fold I'm not sure. Their v flip have good reviews from the start but after 1 to 4 or 6 months the screen will have issues. Your the luckiest if your flip or fold will last 1 year without any problems.

@@holyvirginjd9936 no i have never used a folding phone as i mentioned i am still using my galaxy note 8 from Dec 2017. I was only talking about dropping the phone as OP mentioned. Of course a phone can get technical issues as you mentioned or a person can get into some kind of an accident and their phone can be damaged in the process etc. My Note 2 (scratch less, never dropped) just went dead on it own one day just after one year, i heard that galaxy s3 and note 2 had manufacturing issues and samsung then released update to fix them) and then went back on after a couple of years on it own lol.

This here is the reason i haven't bought any foldable phone despite loving them because i wanted, since i was kid, a big screen phone that can unfold into a proper wide screen tablet. The foldable phones we currently have are kind of squares when unfolded which is big no to me. So i was and i am eagerly waiting for this type (tri fold) phone/tablet. I hope it releases to consumer market soon.
