Tecsun PL 310 DSP receiver review

For most people,think of this as a mediocre to decent am,fm radio, cause the short wave is nearly non existent,even in a park. Also expect to double the price if you pay for the service contract,plug,and roll up antenna. I'm only keeping it cause basically the only station I listen to comes in a little stronger on an old cheap Sony boom box. For the hundred bucks you can get a c crane pro that's am/ fm with a bigger speaker and dialable bass and treble controll. I don't think it's stereo,though. You can also add am antenna

The PL-310 is my favorite of the other similar Tecsun DSP radios - the PL-505, PL-606, PL-310 and the PL-390. I've had two of them( 310's) and one drawback has been the tuning knob falling off both of them at some point. It goes right back on but I had to add a little adhesive to be sure it wouldn't fall off and get lost.

I have a PL-606. DSP SW radios are great at high selectivity and lower external noise (though such kind of radios might have more internal noise) and more readable audio.

The PL-310 is a great little radio ... interesting comment on the tuning knob falling off... i'll be checking that ... did not happen to me yet... but with all the radios I own .. the PL 310 is not beeing used very often ... you just reminded me to get it out of the dust and use it today ... i'll make a few videos with it ! 73

This is the radio that i wanted to order. My favorite radio! Only the cons of the PL 310 is the lack of SSB, and because of that, i will need to make my own BFO controller to receive SSB on the radio.

This is a hot little radio. Very surprised with it's FM performance. I can't, however, speak on behalf of its shortwave performance as I have not tested it against the other radios in my stable. FM selectivity:::5 FM sensitivity:::5 AM sensitivity:::2 AM selectivity:::3 This is a good little radio for DXing the FM band. AM is what it is however, basic, but still very respectable for a portable this size. There is lots of noise on the AM band, even at night, when listening to distant stations. I will do more testing, but this is my preliminary results. The FM performance is incredible. Very sensitive and does an outstanding job being selective.

Does the sychronous detection on the PL660 work well ? I have a degen de 1106 .. which is the same type radio ... but the Sync detector looses lock often. 73's

i bought this and i cant even pick up the fort collins signal. I can't get MHZ to change. Help any suggestions? I've read the guide and I'm not getting anything except FM

you need to change the band to SW for this to work, you do this by pressing on the up down arrow for the SW bands.. then you can input a frequency for shortwave

I've switched it to SW and there is no reception. I can't get the Fort Collins stations. it's just all static on SW frequency.

You just need to continue looking... this week we had lower than average propagation ... you will hear if you check at different times of day

How do receive 76MHZ

The radio's VHF I/II band coverage is from 68 MHz to 108 MHz. 76 MHz is also included in the coverage. So, you can receive 76 MHz on the radio.
