Damn that shroud was the winner. You inspired me to mod my Phantom. Mine is from a couple years ago so I didn’t have the foam yours came with and my PCB is blue and there was also a separate solder point instead of one of the 4 screws connecting the plate and the PCB so I wasn’t able to separate them. I ended up adding foam under the PCB, I put in some Akko jelly blues, white pudding key caps, and I just ordered a white shroud… I wish there was a way to swap out the cable for a white one. It could probably be done if I knew how to wire but I don’t.

The shroud is actually a life saver for me because the paint of my top plate has started to peel around the arrow keys. It also hid the switches which is actually more pleasing for the eyes. I'm glad tecware sold these.

9 months later, finally I dared to modding this same keyboard, I started and made the tape mod, along with black felt in the case. You really feel the difference and I liked it. I'm going to order the tools I'm missing to make the hole mod for the stabilizers. But so far the experience has been excellent. It should be noted that it continues with the same keycaps and switches. I have already planned the change for both of us, but in the meantime I’m currently getting some money for it.

I enjoyed every bit of this video. I have this same Tecware keyboard but with brown switches and I would love to try linear switches. I doubt I would go as far as modding the stabilizers (for now) but everything else is definitely something I want to try.

You should consider trying to create some KZbin Shorts, they can blow up your channel. There's this guy that I know who had only 1,000 subscribers, but then he tried creating some KZbin Shorts, and he blew up to 90,000 in the span of a couple of months! You don't have to, of course, if that's not the kind of content creating you're into, but I'm just giving you some good options to potentially grow your channel because I LOVE your content, you so underrated as a KZbinr. Keep creating and create what makes you happy!

Tried following the video for my old Tecware Phantom 87. Pulling the switches but they never gave. Found out that the older models of this KB were not hot-swappable, their switches were soldered onto the PCB. Bought this KB in Fall of 2019. Newer models would work.

Planning to return mine since it has a lot of pinging noise and the box was damaged so the extra switches were damaged too. I will buy their 104 since that one has no pinging noise because they use their own pre lubed switches and not outemu 😂.

Just a quick tip. I dont reccomend putting dielectric grease with holee mod bc the sound can get mushy in this case it didnt bc the bandaid you used was thin put most other are not so instead of the dielectric grease use 205g0 if you want the holee mod

I replaced all of my switches with akko cs lavender purples, and for most of the keys, including the space bar, it works great. But for some reason, on the smaller stabilizer keys like shift and backspace, it gets stuck and doesnt go up all the way after i press it, or at least goes up slowly. I find this weird because the spacebar works just fine, and even the outemus work with them. I have tried replacing the switches too, but nothing seems to be working :/

that happened when i had a stab fitted wrong on a different keyboard. did you try refitting the stab by disassembling and then reassembling/putting them back in? if you haven't, perhaps try it and hopefully it'll fix it

Just received my stock tecware phantom... and it's kinda overlubed. Like my stabs sounds more muted than your modded one, initially felt mushy too. Tecware seems to improve on their products every batch there is, but mine seemed to be overdone :D (or my lube are just suspended and need some breaking in)

The Tecware Phantom is such a solid keybaord, and it's genuinely a steal for the price. But I cannot get over the ping noise the keys make when you press them with the average amount of force used in any gaming session. It's a dealbreaker.

This is the best budget TKL totally stock. Nicely lubed stabilizers with foam between the plate and the pcb, as well as foam inside the case. I've never seen that on any other keyboard in the price range. So yea absolutely!

My Tecwear Phantom 87 came in a plastic bag with the keyboard and nothing else in it 😔 all the keys work I just don't have the switch puller, extra switches and keycap puller I want the extra switches because if I break a switch then I would be able to replace it. Also I want to lube the keyboards switches but I can't take them out 🤷🏻‍♂️ annnnd I already bought Lube so if you guys have ideas I will try them out

removing a singular switch from this nightmare of a "hotswappable" keyboard is leagues more difficult than balancing on a sewing thread 1,000s of feet in the air over a pit, and attempting to balance has an 80% chance to break the thread before you end up balancing

Depending on what size keyboard you want, the LTC nimbleback is a great 65% board that is really beginner friendly to mod but is a really great keyboard!
