This was taken in like November of 1978 on his birthday right before he broke out again. He smiling because he knows he going to be making a second escape soon.

Florida was a whole different ball game for Ted. No amateur jailhouses there for him to escape from. I saw a video someone posted online from 1989 where they did a tour of the Florida State Prison where he was incarcerated and subsequently executed. Also Dr James Dobson, when visiting Ted Bundy for that final interview, reported that he had to get through 7 sets of steel doors to get to the room where he was going to interview Ted Bundy, and he had to get past metal detectors that were so sensitive that he had to take his shoes off as it would react to the pins in the heels of his shoes. Florida doesn't take any chances with escape risks like Bundy and we have to thank Florida for their diligence and solving the Bundy problem once and for all.

@@caroldaronch1974I don't know if it was his last jail cell or not but he was once removed from a jail cell in FL and when they inspected the bars on the window apparently he had three of them three quarters of the way cut through!! So yes it is true he almost escaped a third time.

He only escaped from Colorado

@@laurataylor8179 Yes you are right. I can't believe I got that wrong. I've read countless books on Bundy. The first escape didn't last long and I think he got lost. The second escape he made it to Florida. And Chi Omega.
@Romulan24696 ай бұрын
@@shaneogden3622 It was complete and utter incompetence on the part of those deputies at Pitkin County Courthouse and Garfield County Jail in allowing him to escape so easily. On both instances he was left alone for long periods giving him the window of escape. Also on the second escape he acquired $500 in cash mostly from Carole Boone visiting him and a hacksaw (no doubt from a bit of the money she gave him to buy from other prisoners) to saw himself a hole out of that ceiling light fixture. I mean how ridiculous can a jail be that an inmate can saw out a light fixture and crawl out?

Im actually sorry about what happened to women. The curse is wrong. We should be trying to find technology that stops torment while, at the same time, allowing us to enjoy loving eachother.

I was almost 6 years old when he was captured in Pensacola Florida near Oscar's restaurant. Of course I didn't know about it until the year mid 80s. I lived in Pensacola all my life. I heard he was thrown out of a bar here in Pensacola and as he left, the manager found a bunch of credit cards left in the seat. I think the bar was called the 2000. Scary!! 😮

He was looking for food in the dumpsters behind the restaurant. It was a diner. The police officer who saw the orange bug didn't recognize it and followed him and ran the plates and pulled him over when the car came back stolen.
