I once got trapped in a taxi for a long-ish journey with a driver who was exactly like this guy. Same droning delivery, same attempts at profound or humorous stories. None went anywhere, and none were humorous or profound. They always sounded like he was drifting to a point, then he'd trail off, as if expecting you to supply the punchline in your head. One of the strangest people I've ever met.

All I can say is if he had done this routine back in the 70’s in the hey day of working men’s and social clubs he would have been paid off within 10 minutes. Comedians by definition are supposed to be funny and get laughs. Not embarrassing responses. If his take is not to get laughs then what is the point. He has no presentation, delivery or material. How he inspired Stewart Lee I will never understand as Stewart Lee is the complete opposite of this guy in that he has superb delivery and excellent material. This “worshiping “ of this man is like the Emperors new clothes. Rubbish

@@stevejohnson4111 hello Steve. Actually I was a comedian for 20 years and toured with Roy Orbison, Three Degrees Johnny Mathis Cliff Cilla Yarwood Olivia Newton John and many others. Played the Palladium Royal Albert Hall and every major theatre and club in the UK Australia, Canada and this was all during the 70’s. Also recorded my own series for Yorkshire TV, Devised a kids show for BBC Called Get Your Own Back which ran for 8 years and nominated for a BAFTA Wrote for Russ Abbot Little and Large Canon and Ball. Started my career in the Northern Social clubs and didn’t get a laugh for 5 years but learnt my profession and developed into a very good comedian. After 20 years I decided to change direction as the “new” comedians came into force through Paul Jackson BBC producer who I knew. I greatly admired the new comics as they were because they wrote all their own material and changed the face of comedy. So comics like me had to adapt or change. I then went into Management looking after Wayne Sleep Sheila Ferguson from the 3 Degrees and was with Qdos Ents writing and directing their product for 8 years. So I do feel qualified regarding the comments I made about Ted. I love comedy and good comics and liking or disliking a comedian is very subjective. I hope this explanation goes some way to your understanding of my opinion. Best wishes Steve.

What a complete load of excruciatingly dire and utterly unfunny, self-indulgent rubbish. Ted Chippington's truly unique stand-up style, really is an alternative form of, so-called, comedy. Furthermore, I can almost visualise the tumbleweed being rolled along the ground, by the moderately strong desert wind, at the end of each joke.
