I am Welsh and to think that this happened in Cardiff sickens me. Ted is a very influential stand up comedian respected by John Peel and the greatest influence on my personal comic hero Stewart Lee. The security people were obviously inept and hopeless and the reaction of the crowd only prove how ignorant and ill informed they were. A comic genius who at a Fall concert in 1982 impressed Stewart Lee so much that it clarified for this fellow comic genius the trajectory his life should take from that moment. These people throwing cans are laughably little more than violent morons.

Just found out that this was at a Fall gig. Mark E. Smith stormed offstage 30 minutes into the set and Ted Chippington came back on and valiantly tried to give the crowd a little more value for money. Kudos to him for trying but the audience were drunk and angry so it was a failed attempt. Fuck the security by the way!

I'm sickened by this. I saw Ted in the early 90s in the Welsh Club in Cardiff & spent time with him after. He was great. The man is a legend. I live in Cardiff too. I wish I'd been there the night of this film. Idiots
