Ted was great again and he had a good physique that was above average but attainable for us regular guys. One of the all time best in ring performers.

Ted makes a great point here because if you're talking true "old school", the guys weren't bodybuilders, they didn't have the face and body you'd put on a magazine, they weren't chiseled and jacked. If you were a heel you just wanted to look scary, starting with your face. and babyface usually just clean cut and plain looking. maybe a nice haircut and some teeth whitening. Also gotta remember that a lot of those guys were shooters, and shooters usually aren't all jacked. The toughest guy in the room often doesn't look too imposing.

Probably the best in ring performer . Ran circles around everyone. Knew how to play the heel. Take bumps, and split you in two if he wanted to.

I remember seeing Sean Waltman in 1991 as the Lightening Kid in the GWF on ESPN and I was very impressed by him.I thought at that time that there was no future for him in the WWF,but I figured he would eventually end up in WCW.I was surprised when I saw him working for the WWF about two years later.

I prefer to see it when guys are a lot bigger than me. It was the point of wrestling to me seeing larger than life characters. I'm middle aged now and around 185 pounds or 13 stone here in the UK and I loved seeing the likes of earthquake, Big boss man and the L.O.D, British bulldog, Hart foundation etc. Now it's small guys doing acrobatics.

Waltman was trained by Boris Melenko/Simon, so he could go. DiBiase probably knew that as well.

If you’re on Vince’s ridiculous non stop 24/7 schedule and looked as good as he did in his 50’s or even now, how you gonna accept excuses from your talent for being out of shape? 🤷‍♂️

According to Waltman, he had already been getting into trouble backstage during the first months of his WWF run, and was made to eat a Write-Off from IRS at Summerslam '93 as punishment.

@@uptowndanram6753 I guess that explains why most of the match was IRS beating the tar out of him. That Write-Off looked particularly stiff.

Not in a first world country. You still look emaciated at that weight. I'm between 6'3 and 6'4 and my weight is currently 225. I'm between 10-12% bodyfat and I look skinny. And Waltman wasn't really "cut" at that weight either. He was "skinny fat."

Never cared for Waltman/123 Kid... In any aspect of his career, I always felt like he simply didnt fit as a pro wrestler! Always felt like Waltman was the very definition of "who you know", if he wasn't part of the Kliq he never would have gotten anywhere in pro wrestling!

I totally agree. He didn't have the look, but he was pretty athletic, and knew his way around in the ring, though. That said, if not for his connection to the Kliq, he wouldn't have gotten over anywhere other than ECW past a jobber to the stars. He'd have beat other jobbers, and put over the stars, while giving them more than just a squash match.
