I just seen and met "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase at WrestleCon in Detroit. My girlfriend was wearing an Ultimate Warrior shirt and he told her that he liked the shirt but not the guy on it lol. He told us that Warrior was the most self-centered person he ever met. Mike Rotundo "IRS" was with him and confirmed that Warrior was careless in the ring and was famous for going for a clothesline and actually punching you in the face rather than hitting the clothesline correctly. Ted was super nice and cool and so was IRS.

Agreed… a prime example of how good he was is when him and Andre wrestled Hulk and Savage at Summerslam. Due to Andre being so immobile because of injuries and health issues Ted essentially wrestled the whole match by himself against the 2 top stars in the company. He worked his ass off during that match

From what I do remember hearing a number of times, the straw that broke the camels back as far as ribs went with the Bulldogs and Rougeau's was one time when the Rougeau's were out in the ring, Curt Henning got into their bags and cut up their underwear, then blamed it on Dynamite who'd left the arena having already wrestled (the Bulldogs apparently had a rep for doing shit like that to people's clothes). Jacques believed it and apparently that's what caused him to hit Dynamite with a fist full of quarters. It was basically Curt Henning's fault, but a lot of people felt that Dynamite deserved it and probably had it coming from someone anyway. He was probably lucky that it was the guy with the worst real punch in the locker room.
@geneanthony3421
@geneanthony3421 10 ай бұрын
That's not what happened. Hennig did cause stir it, but Dynamite came up from behind and hit Jacques while they were playing cards. Jacques was beat up pretty bad and Raymond was on crutches during the time so he couldn't get involved (he was legit tough). Jacques was humiliated and on an airplane someone made a comment about Jacques losing his boxing match. Jacques was actually training with Raymond because he felt like he had to come back at him. His dad even mentioned to get a roll of quarters before he saw him again. Jacques and Raymond planned it out and waited for Dynamite to be alone and Dynamite was carrying coffee and when passing Jacques he tried to punk him and Jacques gave him a big smile and Jacqeues hit him twice I believe. Both Jacques and Raymond have told the story in shoot interviews which are up on youtube.

From what I heard, dynamite was Retaliating on Jacques for something he didn't even do. Curt hennig pulled a rib on dynamite and he thought jacques was behind it so he slapped the shit out of jacques while he was playing cards in the locker room. Jacques retaliated to that accordingly, if you ask me. Vince told them both to knock the shit off or theyd be fired. Shortly after... the british bulldogs put in their notice so the Rougeaus figured they had something coming. That's why if you watch survivor series 1988 (british bulldogs last match), the rougeaus are the first team to get eliminated. They had a car waiting for them outside and left with their ring gear on. Cant blame em 🤷‍♂️ lol

The thing that’s kind of sad about was Ted DiBiase had to say even though I respect his opinion is that the ultimate warrior was very complementary during his Hall of Fame speech towards MDM and what did he did for him in his career Regards to people saying that the ultimate warrior was horrible at promos what kind of promo do you want from him? If you want one that is where he just speaks eloquently or one that is crazy and off-the-wall like his character is it got over so well with people sometimes if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

I mean as a guy who hits the heavy bag on a daily basis I'm going to give credit to Rougeau. Every time I hear this story people act like he hit him with a solid gold glove 😂 Everyone, just put a roll of quarters in your hand a throw a punch in the air... It's the same 😂 Rougeau knocked his teeth out cold like a badass. The coins barely did anything. A roll of quarters weighs noting especially if you're a 220 pound wrestler. It would be like putting a microphone in your hand and expecting 10x more power 😂

Yes Dynamite and Davey Boy were pulling stiff ribs which is wrong but the rib with Jacques was not done by Dynamite Kid, but Curt Hennig who was new to the business. Curt saw the opportunity that Dynamite was ribbing other wrestlers and took advantage of the situation by escalating the conflict by ribbing Jacques Rougeau. Then when Jacques sees that someone messed with his gym bag Curt innocently, convincing that it was Dynamite Kid. Then Curt goes tells Dynamite about Jacques going to Vince complaining about the rib you pulled on Jacques which lead to the whole rivalry. Ramon and Jacques both knew about Curt Hennig pulling the rib, but it escalated to such new levels that the focus became on the rivalry between Dynamite and Jacques. Yes Dynamite is a bully of sorts but he was also the policeman of the wrestling locker room who kept everyone in check. He was a bit of bully but at the same time kept everyone in line. Dynamite's view point when it comes to wrestling is you have to work hard to earn a spot and him being that badass type of person kept everyone in line, but also at the same time he was dangerous with doing drugs and hurting himself in wrestling. Dynamite is like 50/50 where he had good and bad qualities. You like him but at the same time don't like him.

He was absolutely spot on about the UW. Incoherent ramblings on the mic, no ability in the ring. If you think that was good gimmick, you are what was wrong with the business then, and why it sucks so bad now. The idea behind the interview was to get the information over of the day, place, and opponent, and selling the match. He did little to none of that. Ted isn't that top tier- Dusty, Piper, Flair- promo, but he was definitely one of the better ones- like Hawk, Arn Anderson, Michael Hayes. As a guy who grew up in the business and was taught it the right way, Ted saw UW as an anathema to all he believed about the business.

No. Warrior wasn't great on the mic. Nobody understood what he was saying, nobody could even decipher the made up words he used. There's a reason why his promos in WCW became total rating killers. Overall, Warrior is the Vanilla Ice of wrestling. No talent whatsoever but he somehow catched on for 5 minutes of fame, but just as fast as his star rose, it faded away. By 1990 he was down and out, hence why Wrestlemania 6 bombed so badly in the buyrates and why, for a short while until Bret, he was the lowest drawing WWF Champion of all time.
