The reason for Soccer Saturday is that there is a broadcast blackout on football in England on 3pm games on Saturdays which has been in place since the 60’s. This is why you’ll see kick offs on Saturday at 12:30pm and 5:30pm and also the reason that the final day of the football season is played on a Sunday (all games must kick off at the same time for the last game) so broadcasters can show the games

The only Saturday 3pm kick off is the FA Cup final (kicking off at 3.15pm) this is because it was the last game of the season (or used to be) so no other football was played anywhere, so either you are at the match or watching the match on TV.

Given the events in the last episode, I see an AfC woman team on the horizon, Keely and Rebecca involved, Roy Kent as coach.

Mike Dean was very popular for a ref, the most likeable there has been in all honesty.

Just to mention, West Ham United are themselves NOT fictional.

Also, not exactly a cameo, but, Keeley Hazell is the actress who is Rupert’s (bit on the side) & then wife. The character Keeley, that Juno Temple plays is definately based on Keeley Hazell. Keeley Hazell was one of the best known page 3 glamour models of her time. Page 3 girls featured in a couple of British tabloids (mainly The Sun, Britains best selling newspaper), showing bare boobs on page 3 every day, this was from the 1970 right up to 2015!

Also an addition for our American cousins who maybe haven't heard of Joey Barton. Joey Barton is a pleb.

There are millions of proper American fans whose knowledge would surprise you. In fairness to uninitiated Americans, the British/correct pronunciation doesn't match the spelling, does it? Even allowing for the difference between rhotic and non-rhotic dialect, it definitely qualifies as irregular.

Discussing the Sky Sports reshuffle. Stelling had been trying to leave for about three years, he was even leaving one year when he announced about 8 games before the end of the season he was carrying on and did so for another year or two. Similar situations with the other "old dogs" of the sport like Charlie Nicholas, Phil Thompson etc. The only person who took exception to this was Matt Le Tissier, who was actually fired for breaking the social media clause within his contract (something you have in an employment as a media presenter or even as a shelf stacker in asda/walmart so nothing extreme) where he would constantly spread misinformation, conspiracy theories and offensive posts. But instead as a good and proper conspiracy/misinformation nutjob he decied to spend two years on podcasts saying it was due to his age and wokeness, when in reality its due to his inabilty to not be a raving loooney!
