I know it's only one season, but if this keeps up Ted & Rebecca will be right up there with Jack & Liz Lemon and Ron Swanson & Leslie Knope. Seemingly polar opposites but a deep rooted platonic LOVE for each other. (while being boss & subordinate). Just wonderfully written.

You don't have to ship them as more than friends but there is zero correlation between the dynamic between these two and either Jack/Liz or Ron/Leslie. Like completely different dynamics on every level. It's also weird to me that people are so anti these two but then want him with a side character who showed up at his room for a booty call when he was at his lowest point.

@@kation While I agree with a lot of what you say, Sassy isn't younger. They may think she's younger for whatever reason but she and Rebecca are the same age as they literally went to school together. I do agree the petite thing whereas Rebecca is a bit more of a dominating and intimidating presence. I'd also take aim at the hotter considering HW is strikingly gorgeous, she just looks her age.

And very-manic pixie dream girl if you know what I mean. Men go cray for that shit. I’d love to see Ted and Rebecca together! Friends who became more, a woman who is tall and strong and not classically feminine but is age appropriate for Ted and not to mention he seems to absolutely adore her.

@@branchy7159 The show already has this theme going on throughout though? Ted loves everyone, and makes friends with everyone no matter how bad they can treat him. There is a lot of platonic male & female friendships in the show. There is literally not a valid reason on why they shouldn’t explore the potential of Rebecca and Ted down the line, if not it’s a missed opportunity.

Putting Romance on the table cheapens Teds impact in her life, as he's only doing it in hopes of getting something out of it. Ted doesn't expect anything in return and that is why we love his character.

And not true, Rebecca already wants to move on, she stopped herself from ever moving on, and favoured revenge which was the big point of her plot from S1. She already has been impacted by Ted. It’s not about “expecting” it’s about their connection, both Ted and Rebecca understand one another like nobody else does, and have the connection. When Roy tells Rebecca she shouldn’t settle for “just fine” it sounded like it was pointing out that she can do somebody better like Ted.

I mean it is sad when a show uses romance as a crutch but they're clearly building up to something here, both Ted and Rebecca are, in fact, romantics, and they could make each other really happy, I agree with you that not investing in their chemistry would be a missed opportunity especially when the show already has so many other great platonic relationships between men and women.

It's still early days, Jaime and Keeley were an established couple and now they're not, I have a hard time seeing Rebecca and Sam lasting as a couple, so I have hope her and Ted will still be the endgame! I'm always a fan of the slowburn relationships, so here's to hoping!

their chemistry is so so good it’s almost a dealbreaker for me that they just don’t get together, rebecca and sam don’t fit at all in my opinion, it’s not any of their fault it’s just that sudeikis and hannah have such intense and incredible chemistry that they don’t utilize that anyone else with rebecca or anyone else with ted is so foreign to me, they’re like two pieces of a puzzle that only fit together
