I remember as a freshman at SDSU in 1977 in front of my 19" black and white Zenith in my Toltec dorm room, seeing "Coming Soon, Ted Leitner to KFMB 8"... A San Diego icon.

So happy to hear you relishing this moment in San Diego sports history. I remember the much younger Teddy, who when first broadcasting sports, had this tagline: "It's only a game!" Well Ted, as we have grown much older together, it's refreshing to hear you acknowledge that sometimes is more than just a game. For this fan, an Aztec freshman in1962 watching his basketball team play in old Peterson gym, teach win in this team's March Madness run, each win has been more than "Just a game." In my heart you are the best journalism student to matriculate from Oklahoma State. Love you Ted.

Ted is dead wrong about the Padres, who are only liked by people in San Diego. SDSU is one of the biggest universities in the entire state, meaning, it has one of the biggest alumni bases in the state. There are FAR more Aztec fans than Padres fans. Far more.

Yeah well Teddy is and always will be an Oklahoma State guy. He always goes "Negative Nancy" when things aren't going well. He becomes hard to listen to when the Aztecs struggle.
