Thanks for great interview. Louis, are you aware that Russian Oligarchs are not the only people having their property rights violated? If you are an American citizen who happened to own an investment in a Russian company, our government confiscated your property without having been accused of a crime, without a trial, and without a guilty verdict. In fact there was not even a notice... the securities simply vanished from your portfolio overnight. So much for the rule of law.

The difference is Oligarchs have choices, they are sophisticated enough to be able to move their wealth around. Joe public, they have no choice but to take the punishment.

But Louis, what if you're wrong in your USD bear market call? Are you sure the Fed will pivot towards such a dovish stance?... They know very well that they're on the ropes and have to protect the USD or its game over. Have you even considered this? It seems you take the USD bear market as too sure of a thing. Best regards, Rafael

cannot shed tears for the oligarchs. They often stole, money laundered are linked to organized crime. Their assets should have been taken a LONg time ago but I don't expect morals and ethics from money managers. As To Chinese buying homes for safety in Vancouver, they have destroyed it for the local working population (by working I mean from manual, to middle class to professionals) who has gained? Developers, realtors, money launderers. Polls of local population again and again have said they do NOT want Chinese or Russian or any foreign money parked in RE, Your example is wrong

You are wrong. This is just how u feel.
@DissonantCat Жыл бұрын
You must have misunderstood his examine of Chinese wanting Canadian real estate. It has nothing to do with the Canadian population and their needs. He's talking about Chinese investors looking for a safe haven because they can't trust their own government.

If the US dollar is eventually heading lower, where should Americans put their money? I agree holding cash or Treasuries long-term seems the worst thing to do. Maybe in certain stocks that will weather the storm and adjust in price on a global scale to the much less valuable dollar? That seems reasonable. By Mr Gave's comments that would be in companies connected to commodities and energy, the very companies the US seems bent on putting out of business? Mr Gave feels Americans may not even feel the adjustments that the global world is making against the dollar, I think that won't be the case. My big concern is that we may ultimately see $2 million for Toyota Carola or $50 for a loaf of bread? I hope it's not that bad as many other countries have indeed had it that bad. And where will the growth and strength in the world shift to? A treacherous and evil china doesn't seem sustainable?
