I used to laugh at Gary Ewing because I never saw the heart-throb appeal. He looked like the identical twin of Frank Burns on MASH. You can really see the resemblance here.

What year was this interview? I like he's more interested in the script quality, but then he is frank about saying how actors don't really care to do soaps as much as other types of genres of acting.

I’m only 2 1/2 minutes in and it’s not just you. Also I’ve never seen the full movie he mentions in the interview but I’ve seen the marketing and some clips. Looks like a cheap B-flick. I did always like Nancy Allen though.
