I was seeking for my life purpose since 8 years old. I started to talk to God because I was bullied at school and started to have suicidal thoughts. I cried out, I scolded God and I also blamed God why He allowed all the bullying and rejection in my life. I talked to God almost every day. I found strength coming within although I was a Buddhist. In end of 2014, my life hits rock bottom. I made so many mistakes and bad choices in life which I resigned my job thinking to be with someone I met online which in the end it was a scam. I was jobless and hopeless. I called out to all the God or Goddess I used to worship and I even called out to other God I can call their names including Allah and Jesus although I did not know them. I asked who was the God I used to talk to, I used to get angry with and I used to blame. But this God still helped me to stand up again and again. I asked this one true God to reveal. If there’s a true God, please reveal to me. In January 2015 I had a dream about a man in white robe. I remembered seeing the man in white robe and his robe was so white and bright. I didn't bother to look at his face as his hand was holding my hand and he took me to walk around the ancient city. I also saw few men in light brown robe walking behind us. I felt so calm and peaceful walking with the man in white robe. I woke up feeling very good as I just walked in ancient city but I did not understand my dream at all. In the same month, I also dreamt about satan in my dream. The black transparent shadow in a well-built man form. He was touching my neck until my chest from behind. I felt something evil. I tried so hard to wake up from my dream after I managed to open my eyes, I realized I can’t move my body. I shouted for help but there’s no voice coming out. When I managed to move my body I ran out from my bedroom then I saw the black shadow stood near my living room looking at me. It was the same devil I saw in my dream. I shouted for help from my mom and sis. Then they opened their bedroom door then the black transparent shadow disappeared immediately. I opened my bedroom door and I couldn’t sleep although I let the light on until the next morning. I was so traumatized. I never encountered this in my life before. I thought it was ghost as I was a Buddhist that time. 3 months later in mid-April, one morning I asked God how long I have to wait to understand my life purpose. I suddenly thought of a college friend whom I didn’t contact for 16 years. I found her in Facebook. She invited me to church and I agreed to follow her to church as I was seeking for my life purpose. Before this, I approached numerology, astrology, tarot card reading, psychic medium to find out about my life purpose but it did not make me understand, it actually caused me to make so many bad choices and mistakes in life. After 2 Sunday services, I came home to look for a movie about Jesus Christ. I saw Jesus was wearing white robe in the movie and few of his disciples were in light brown robe then I suddenly recalled about the dream I had in January 2015. But I told myself not to be too emotional or jump to conclusion too fast. There was one scene when Jesus was standing at the mountain top then, Jesus began to shine with bright rays of light when God and Prophets Moses and Elijah appeared speaking to Him. I talked to myself that was the man I saw in my dream as his robe was so white and bright. But I tried to keep cool and reminded myself not to be too over excited. I watched the other half of the movie next day. I continued to watch without thinking too much about my dream but when the movie came toward the end, Jesus was carrying a cross to walk around the ancient city, I was stunned as I saw what I was seeing in my dream in January and I cried out very loud and uncontrollably. My mom and sis thought what was happening to me. I told them Jesus came into my dream and I was sure Jesus was the man in white robe who revealed to me in my dream then I was guided to church 3 months later. Jesus tried to reveal to me by arranging my college friend to meet up with me and took me to church. If not I will not know Him. After that, I been through few spiritual attacks which I encountered with satan in spirit in all attacks I called out to Jesus Christ's name:"In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast all the evil out." Then everything back to normal. I was stunned as I never experienced the power of Jesus Christ's name until I experienced it myself in a foreign land in Sri Lanka and also in dream and reality satan is attacking those who finds out the truth and who comes to know the one true God through Jesus Christ. I used my 9 months of jobless period to experience God through Jesus Christ. Then God has put in a desire and confident in me to seek for a job I wanted to do but always have no confident to do in training. With God's grace I got myself a career change and working as a soft skills trainer. I started to tell people about God through Jesus Christ. I wanted to help people with suicidal thoughts but satan came to stop me. I called out to Jesus Christ's name. God and satan both exist. Please get to know God through Jesus Christ, seek the truth, learn about God's words in Bible then you will learn about your true life purpose.

Satan and the dark side is very real. Encountered them many times in my dreams and each time I would shout out to Jesus for help and each time they will vanish and I'll wake up. That's the power of Christ's name that even they will tremble. As for God, it's important to have a 2 way relationship with Him. Being a Christian is not all about asking God for help each time like He's a genie.. He's not. When we have a strong relationship with Him (via prayer, listening to Him, reading His word, and doing His will) that's when we're a true Christian.

Im from Romania. i read all you been through and i think its nothing extraordinary...everyone that seeks and sees the truth is going through this kind of things....What i want to say to you is that im very happy :) :* that a budist person from asia belives in Jesus but that is only the half of what a human has to do. the other half is to do what Jesus whats you to do and that is extremly hard.... so if the relegion in wich you are right now is not orthodox than satan stoped you from seeing the whole thruth by not respecting Jesus will to the end...in Romania we had and still have thousants of living saints. thay can read your mind see the future and other things.... so document yourself about that and about orthodox religion and you will see how demons will try to stop you from doing that but they will have no chance if you are determined and belive in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

@timpoiu
@timpoiu 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Lorena , this video has so many dislikes because Rick Warren preaches good works, Jesus wants Rick to speak of the love , acceptance and forgiveness of God. God loves us as we are, if we come to Christ as we are we will be accepted, and we can recieve forgivness for everything..it is an historical fact that 11 of the 12 Apostles were executed because they continued to say they were eye witnesses that Jesus was risen from the dead. Not only will God forgive us but Jesus promised those who believe in Him would recieve POWER from the Holy Spirit to live holy lives .Rick never mentions power from God either. Everyone thinks they are a good person, even prisoners. eg a drug dealer might say " i'm not a bad person, i sell a fair product at a fair price, not like some theif who breaks into someone place and steals their stuff !" a theif might say " i just take stuff from rich people, i dont wreck peoples lives not like some drug dealer getting people hooked on drugs !!.. And everyone does this,, good is me, bad is stuff i havent done.. i have covered a lot in just a few minutes , Rick had 20 and said nothing of value..God bless

People will need the miraculous to help others in the unprecedented times ahead. “Many will perish for lack of knowledge!” Media lies... Never take the “Mark of the Beast” which is the fraud Gates injection! Jesus is the only way! No Apostasy, watered down, NAR... Deception is within Churches!

@@jesusiskingofkings4650 I agree. The book is very watered down. The Lord's pronouns were not capitalized, scripture was quoted, loosely, and no reference to where it could be found was there. I only read the first chapter and threw it in the trash. The Holy Bible is the best book to read if you want the truth. It won't be found in a book written by someone who obviously doesn't really know the Bible. Even the smallest error can lead someone in the wrong direction. There were many.

The work you do when reading The Purpose Driven life changes the course of one's life permanently and changes everything from relationships to environments. This Easter, I joined a women's book club in Stuart Florida and contemplating my life today compared to when I first read you book. The chapters we discussed this week reminded me of one of the key topics. Thanking God for when things do not turn our your way so that the outcome can be God's perfect plan. Happy Easter!

for those of you who are not inclined to watch this video in full,his central message is to use your wealth and/or influence in society to help those who are disenfranchised and disadvantaged eg orphans,the homeless etc.In doing so,this altruistic kindness (ie voluntary charity) will give you existential fulfillment/meaningfulness and happiness.At face value that was my interpretation (for what its worth)

1) In that same respect, when I was single (and not practicing my faith well), I felt that I deserved to have my options & the best the world had to offer. That meant my expectations were high & I could make others feel "unworthy". This is the challenge that many rich & famous people have: they deserve it all. But now, once God changed my heart, I instead feel that I am the "unworhy" one when compared to my wife. But she loves me & even feels the same. So this humility leads to greater joy.

He is doing what he thinks is right, I admire that. IF all of us did that this world would be a better place wouldn't it, but the problem is that most of us are too selfish to care about helping and giving to others. Each one of us know what is right and what is wrong so, what's stopping us from choosing to do right? Self. Giving ourselves to God completely, allowing Him to transform our lives will make the world a better place one person at a time.

(cont'd) The beauty of the U.S. is the ability for those to express their beliefs and take a stand, and encourage others who share that view in their lifestyles. Such an ability strengthens a country when there is healthy debate, and the ability to dismiss without hostility for those who do not wish to engage. But to be offended/hostile instead of choosing to simply dismiss or debate would the very absolutist and prejudiced act that we are conveying the other has.

The deception lasted many, many years, as nobody taught on the powerful miracles experienced... So much wasted time. It’s imperative to understand NOW. Be Baptized in the Holy Spirit & ask for the Spiritual Gifts! Repent daily in prayer! We are in a Spiritual War for our Souls! Few here are prepared for what is coming Fall 2020 into 2021 ! Deception is the enemy’s Primary tool & it is found within Churches often!

Great talk. A couple of pointers. Our purpose is firstly to be loved by God and to love Him in return through Jesus Christ and secondly to love others as ourselves. It's that simple but we complicate and stress and worry over so many things that aren't necessary. Jesus said can worrying add a day to your life? If you want to know more, I strongly recommend you read the book of Matthew in the Bible. God bless you.

The joy here is that he proves his understanding of "God first" & his trust gives an unexpected result: proves his fear of the Lord, gets to keep his son, & is the father of a faith that produces numerous descendants but no human sacrifice directives from there on (4000+ years). In today's light, God asks many of us to sacrifice what is most precious to us like rich man/money (Matthew 19:16-30). When we do, we get a joy much more in return: for me, being a husband/father was one such place.

Our God says thou shall not judge. God leads His Servants with His Spirit- The Holy Spirit to teach His Children more about Him. I read his book and in every chapter and sentence it was praising and leading me to God. Therefore, please before you judge becareful not to think you know too much, for ALL KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM belongs to God. Let God be the true judge. Shalom.

faceless, an atheist is not someone without belief. He is saying that he doesn’t have enough faith to bet his life on believing that the world was created without God.

commentaries are exactly that, commentaries. But the concordance aspect of the program gives you exact word used (hebrew/greek) and the other passages where the word is used. Then you can see the definitions of those words, and if you don't trust those, now, knowing the precise word, you can do your own research. I haven't used it for the commentaries, though its nice that they are there. You will find that on any given issue, even 'allies' in doctrine won't always agree on everything.

I remember about 5 to 7 years ago, I don't know exactly when because years just fly by and I am the same spiritual lacking individual I have always been, thinking I can do it with my own ways. I was riding my bysicle all day and stooped at this park to rest. I was laying down exhausted and very dehydrated and I heard a voice, would you lIke something to drink. I opened my eyes and a lady and her teenager was standing next to me and she had a cooler and gave me a cold drink. She also gave me something to eat and I told I been riding all day and I was trying to get home because I was long past finish with this ride and I spent all my money so I had no bus fare to get home. She then gave me $5 and this book. Since then I started to read this book several times and always something happens and I do not finish. I believe I went about 20 days once. I know the dark side will do everything it can to stop me from reading this and going the full 40 days. The lady told me I'will have blessing in my life when I complete the 40 days. She said I would be renewed and know my life purpose in God's eyes. The book along with my first bible, a large king James embroided with pics sits at my bedside these past years. Today I start again, day 1 and like the man in the first chapter I feel a small sensation of walking into God's light. I would appreciate your prayers to complete this 40 day journey. Aloha

I agree strongly on ur last paragraph!! as a non-religious-non-atheist kinda guy... In the end, every one is narrow minded. Lets just chill out give every one their space and let people be. Don't judge others for their believes, but for their actions. If a man wants to love another man, who cares, let them get married and be happy. And if christians don't want gay people in their church, well let them.

Purpose in life isn't given to you by someone else, you give meaning to your life by yourself. We do not have the jobs we do because we are "wired" to do so, but because be have chose to do so. What we do with what we have is our choice to make, and not already predestined as "to give". Rich people are sometimes not the happiest because the purpose they aspire is not "to become rich" not because of "spiritual emptiness"

This man is obviously a philosopher. He has reduced decisions he makes down to core components, determines it's significance, then chooses a stance. Your betting on something, what's in your hands,..... no what's in your hands? Ok now that I'm famous what's the point of this? You see he asks questions to what he observes then he tries to logically answer those questions with the guidance of the holy spirit because he is betting it all on God. He placed his bet first, now how does what just happened help contribute to my bet being the winning bet? How about this... How did he decide to bet it all on God? For someone that appears to be so deeply logical, I would be willing to bet he asked himself the following question; When I die, is it better for me to die believing God is a myth or God is real, and furthermore with so many Gods in the World, is there any God on earth whom shows more compassion, grace, mercy and love than that of the God Christians pray to? A logical person would answer there is a God and the God Christians pray to is the one true God. Consider this when you add up grace, mercy, and love...The God Christians follow has set up his people for success, that is a characteristic that successful leaders use today, they set their people up for success, if you're successful or you're successfully leading, you're following some guidelines and setting your people up for success is one of them. It would make perfect logical sense that God, the one true God, would share this fundamental trait with successful leaders, he is after all "the leader" Now the question is do you want to be successful? Have you really tried to answer that? Define it? One can read through these comments and find diversions and insults such as gay rights, he's an idiot, your purpose comes from within, mumbo jumbo...... These folks would never spend one minute considering a rebuttal to the thoughts that popped into their minds. The motive behind such comments is for internet trolling purposes, why else would one even bother to comment in such a negative fashion. If a troll makes it this far into what I've written do yourself a favor and do some research on what an internet troll is, then ask yourself if you fit the description, when you find out you do, consider how that makes you feel about yourself. I've been in your shoes, that's all it took to get me to stop.

Rakeli, thanks but I'll stick to reading the bible with a good expositors dictionary and a bible handbook. If one can't find a purpose driven life through reading the bible, prayer, fellowship and study then something is wrong. If one is doing these things and filled with the Holy Spirit, you won't need Rick Warrens book or any other how to be a christian book. Your brother in the Lord, Hemi*

Hemi * I think you're being a little bit closed minded because God uses people to teach His word to explain concepts we don't readily understand...if anything makes you loose your focus on Christ then there's a problem...man God loves you...He loves His people and He wants you to live a life full of purpose....and that means His will reigning over your life

I don't know why you are pressing the point but maybe I will read it to see what all the fuss is about. If you need the book to find a purpose driven life, then praise the Lord but don't make the assumption that I don't have a life that's so just because I haven't read Rick Warren's book. His book isn't going to tell me what I already know. Rakeli, I know God loves me, I've known that for 38 years, I'm now 59.
