It was actually tough to find this clip, but after a few minutes of googling, I found an article claiming to debunk the claim that Bill Gates was advocating for population reduction. They said it was selectively edited, and taken out of context, but were courteous enough to provide a link to this video. I don't know why they would do that, since the content of the ORIGINAL UNEDITED VIDEO that THEY THEMSELVES PROVIDED completely discredits them. If we got CO2 to ZERO, all life would cease to exist. All plants and therefore all animals (including humans) would die. Earth's atmosphere is currently at about 400 to 415 parts per million. He explained that in poor countries, parents tend to have more babies because they consider that as dependant resources in the future. But the issue is in poor countries, there are poor conditions of living, poor hygiene, and lots of diseases which infect large number of kids and end up dying. Most parents have between 4-6 kids due lack of education. This will make it harder for the parents to afford and provide for these kids that many die of poverty. So by vaccines and educating on controlling birth rate, parents in poor countries have less kids but healthy. This is what he meant. No, thats not what he's saying. The meaning of CO2 to zero is that we need to reduce the amount of extra CO2 (and other greenhouse gases) released by industrial activity of humans. We need to get it back to pre industrial levels cuz you know plants were alive back then as well. In any case CO2 will never go away from the atmosphere as one of the source of CO2 in the air (among other things) is that humans (and other animals for that matter) actually breath it out as well.

There's barely enough for current numbers and there won't be enough if demographic expansion continues. Note that not every kind of food can be produced on any kind of soil, let alone "cultivating" deserts or mountains. Also, converting too much land into arable land would severely destabilize some ecosystems, some in an irreversible manner [at least short-term]; deforestation is not even an option, let alone a viable one. We need demographic stabilization, and we need it ASAP - no killings involved, just responsible reproduction. You're right about the renewable energy though. A solar field the size of Switzerland could provide for the entire planet.

Before we had medicine today people had way more children (anywhere from 2 to 7 or more) because they knew not all of them would survive because of all the diseases that didn’t have vaccines at the time. Random Gaming that’s not true at all. The post war baby boom happened because there was peace and a culture that still valued children. Vaccines don’t factor in to population growth rate at all. Neither does healthcare. In the 50s women had 5+ kids knowing they would all make it to adulthood. No one in America during the postwar baby boom thought “I’m going to have 5 kids because some are going to die”. They thought “I’m going to have 5 kids and they’re all going to be fine.” In Africa people don’t die like they used to and they still average 7 children per woman. It’s predicted Africa’s population will double by 2050. India is about to pass China for the largest population in the world. Their growth is not slowing down even with their healthcare getting better every year. If “healthcare/vaccines” were responsible for slowdowns then populations would not increase because as healthcare gets better, birth rates would get lower. What really happens is the birth rates stays the same as less people die which causes populations to increase then after many years it decreases because of cultural changes. The reason “the west” has low birth rates is because of cultural reasons. This is based off an atricle that was unfounded. Read Melinda's twitter feed, in April she tweeted all her kids are fully vaccinated. All ingredients of vaccins are available to read on the website of the CDC, and if you research them you'll find all of them (aside from the pathogens themselves) are everywhere around us already in our daily lives.

@Joe she doesn't lie about that, as i said the article itself was nothing more than an unfounded rumour that turned out false. I can find the lists just fine, for my own country too, the Netherlands. Vaccins contain mostly the same ingredients, it's regulated globally so the CDC source is just fine. They use certain brand names, wich are used all around the globe and you can look at them at CDC. Europe might use a different brand named MMR vaccin than the US for example, it might even differ from one clinic to another in the same country so it's pointless saying that you can't find a list because it's on CDC's site. The ingredients list for my country is translated from CDC, as well as a lot of other information.

Nope. CO2 = P x S x E x C P= people S= services per person E= energy per service C = carbon dioxide per unit energy The last one, C, must come down to zero because all the others will increase, even if you slow down the rate of increase. Hence the title of the talk. No mention of population reduction anywhere. Population at date of talk: 6.8 billion. Population today = 7.8 billion. Where's the reduction in population? He mentions a reduction in the rate of increase, through better living conditions, meaning people choose to have less children. Is that what you're getting mixed up with?
