*The main problem is United States 🇺🇲 engines F414 for TEDBF. Even Tejas Mark 1A Aircraft problem is also United States 🇺🇲 engines F404 delayed 6 Months & Trasfer of Technology on Manufacturing in India 🇮🇳 because big tender.😢😢 Our Government is Depending on Aircraft Engines*

But still that doesn't warrant simply sitting over the files doing nothing. A CCS clearance can lead to atleast initial design studies be completed and components other than engine/air intake manifold, etc. can go under production

I don’t think it’s a negative dev. We should rather focus on fewer objectives & get them done well. Its imp to remove funding uncertainties by having a medium to long term funding plan approved & committed based on initiative’s progress & clarity on risks, dependencies & alternatives. High priority initiatives- dev. & induction of Tejas MK2 & AMCA on scale, dev. of high thrust engine & adv. tech for changing warfare,including stealth, network centricity, fighter based drones, lasers & more.This in itself is a daunting challenge requiring changes at multiple levels. A solid Supply chain ecosystem including our own engine is important, especially if we want them in large numbers using localized supply chains. Currently our MK2 & AMCA initiatives are no where close to success with our engine development plan in limbo, & uncertainty about our engine procurement plans, thinking about other fighter initiatives will only distract us. Until we are back on track Navy can buy more Rafael’s or MiG-29s, that’ll increase our overall fleet strength, reduce the risk of domestic fighter effort failure & leverage our existing training/ spare/maintenance infrastructure.

Indian military reached it apex in terms of military power vis a vis it's neighbors and rivals in the 1980s ever since indian military has stayed stagnant in terms of inducting technology and changing/modifying doctrines to suite current scenarios, as such indian military has only weakened when compared to it's rivals who have infact evolved.

Our armies tanks are getting obsolete, soilders are lacking basic equipement, Indian airforce strength is declineing, No 5th gen aircraft for next 10 years, Pakistan has more awacs then Us, Aircraft carrier without jets, not enought submarine, No nuclear attack submarine for next 7 years .....14% of budget goes to pension, 30% of defance budget goes to salaries...maximum DRDO defance system are always on Testing phase, never get inducted ...Our soldiers are good but its hard to tell Indian armed forces become paper tiger now a days

First, it's not viable project. Requirement is very small numbers. If Dassault offers rafale "make in India" in MRFA, then developing same fighter again it's a bad idea, I guess. For shore-based operations we can use AMCA.

The navy can only put in a small order for TEDBF with the number of carriers we'll have by then. TEDBF never made sense to me, we're a country with a relatively shoestring military budget, to design an entire aircraft for a small number of orders is no small task. I'd just cancel it and put the funds towards AMCA, a few more Rafale orders are fine.

J-35 is carrier borne aircraft. Pakistan cannot operate it. China might not export J-31 before J-35 is inducted in large numbers in PLAN. Remember China banned export of J-20.

We should focus on Rafale and Rafale M loot. Why should we think of TEDBF and ORCA. We are peace loving country and believe in talks. We have signed no war pact and cease fire agreement with Pakistan and We didn't have any major conflict with China since 1967. Both are peace loving countries. We have definite design on Atmanirbhar Bharat to make propaganda so as to win elections. We also have plenty of planned defense imports to earn commissions and bribes in Swiss Bank.

Remember what happened to’Panchsheel’ agreement between China and India. China back stabbed India in 1962. The Indian discovery of the road and objection to the Chinese presence in the sector was one of the factors leading to sharp border clashes between the two countries in 1962. At the conclusion of the conflict, China retained control of about 14,700 square miles (38,000 square km) of territory in Aksai Chin. Moreover, between China and Pakistan on 2 March 1963, Pakistan illegally ceded 5,180 sq. kms of Indian territory in Pakistan occupied Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to China. Therefore, when there is a truce in the battle field, believe your enemy but keep your gun powder dry. Intentions may change over night but capabilities can’t be developed overnight. Hence, India should build up their infrastructure, airforce, navy, army, strategic nuclear force to take up global presence so that it can become a Super Power.

Even unsatisfied BJP leaders like Dr Swami have started blaming that. Corruption continues unchecked. Its because PLA navy has launched EMALS based carrier which can launch AEWACs as well as J35 5th gen jet. Ski jump carrier with 4.5 gen jet won't make sense after a decade when it will be ready to induct. So good news they have put down this idea of going with existing tech rather competing. 😊

I think we need to remember we are only a 4 trillion dollar economy and cannot go overboard with too much defense spending. I think for Navy focus should be on Submarines. Instead of a big aircraft carrier we can probably make two small sized Helicopter + Drone + UAV carriers. We need to be cost effective.

Until and unless the F-414 Engines production starts in India CCS will not let any prototypes come into fruition putting all the future projects in Jeopardy. There are wise people sitting in the government, keeping in mind how closely west watches the development of all such projects they will not let them move forward.

Alpha defence on TEDBF " दुनिया में बहचत सारे ऐसे projects हैं जहाँ बाद में engines बदले गए हैं "। Also alpha defence few hours earlier in a video on Tejas mk1A "F414 एक बड़ा engine है , इसके लिए हमें air intakes बदलने पड़ेंगे । इसकी length ज्यादा है , तो उससे centre of mass बदल जाएगा । इसका weight भी ज्यादा है तो हमें weight को भी balance करना पड़ेगा । और इस तरह जो aircraft बनेगा वही Tejas mk2 है । " But somehow for not approving TEDBF before engine confirmation, the govt is irresponsible.

Rajnath Singh must look into these issues seriously. We know he is not Parikar but ideally, he should seek advices from someone like Rakesh Bhaduria, Ex IAF Chief who is now a member of BJP and a top class officer of IAF. Why not appoint him as technical support to Raksha Mantri under oath of secrecy?

IAF needs to scrap MRFA woth immediate effect and join the TEDBF program. The IAF can buy 114 ORCA in place of MRFA. This will bring the much needed economic viability and economies of scale to the TEDBF program even without the follow-on Vikrant order.

Subodh sir, Tedbf ki kya jarurat hai? Jab Naval AMCA banaya ja sakta hai. Jaise China ne J31 ka J35 Banaya hai. Mujhe jaha tak lagta hai Government ka focus Tedbf par nahi Hai balki Naval AMCA par hai. Aap kya sochte hai please reply.

Tbh both AMCA and tedbf Will be medium catagory fighters 25+ton for AMCA and similar for Tedbf. But since AMCA will be fifth gen it will be expensive to operate. Tedbf was more viable option. Even, AMCA will need changes if converted to carrier based fighter Structural changes, can mess with Internal weapon bay. Potentially, hindering with jets performance.@@phantom3295

GOI will be saving India from Naval Disaster if it doesnot approve 3rd Aircraft Carrier because recently Hooties have demonstrated that no defence system can stop Hypersonic Missiles.Isreal's Iron Dome also couldnot intercept Hypersonic Missiles. If attacked by Hypersonic Cruise Missiles AC Carriers may prove to be sitting duck only.
