'Shopping For Dresses' mainly written by Little Jimmy Dickens...Hag and Jimmy were at a 'guitar pull' and Hag asked Jimmy what he had..Jimmy sang the song but it wasn't finished so Merle finished the 'britches' part...Merle recorded it July 1981 and put it on his Nov 1982 album 'Going Where The Lonely Go'..Song about a lonely guy shopping for dresses...appropriately recorded in Hollywood CA. Randy Travis and Loretta Lynn recorded it in 1990. B-side of 'Heroes And Friends' and on the album...srj
