Good job, done that many time’s, however we never had a Tedder machine, that looks like a good machine to have in heavy hay, I like that ford workmaster, painted all red, Ever time I see you use it I want to pull it in the shop strip it down and repaint it to its former glory, always thought it and the power master 861 were some of the best looking tractors produced, But you use it, I would just drive it around, play with it, Keep up the good work, Let me know when you bale that hay, if I am not tied up I will come help get it into the barn, Ha, Ha!
@FlutyLickHomestead3 жыл бұрын
The Tedder sure helps!! That ole work master is awesome! Maby someday I’ll paint it up. We’ve spray painted some on it to keep it looking pretty good but nothing to fancy!

Maybe one field show lots of varieties of grass and just let it go to seed and put in a mulch shed with molasses every layer. Great winter feed. Cows also love chopped Manglewersales. The Victorian farm series would probably interest you.

Maxine, I think the whole WORLD is a month behind. Morels, honeysuckles, Chinese privet.. everything is late this year. The weather doesn't seem to know what to do! :)

We had us a frost on May the 16th. It frosted my taters down by the barn, but up on the ridge my raised bed escaped the frost luckily. The weather has been exceptionally odd this year. We've already hit 82 degrees here in NW NC at 3500ft, and those temps usually don't happen until July/August.

Hey there Jared, I grew up in Pilgrim (just a few miles south of Warfield). Where did you find that large of a flat field in Martin County? Seriously, it looks like fun. I work 15 acres for haying here in Texas now. Need to get back up to Van Lear to see my mom soon and visit the hills.

Wow, I sure am enjoying the videos. Raised on a farm, I was driving a small tractor at 3 years of age you're going to have to get your son out there pretty soon. Question... whatever became of the Old Log Cabin you featured some time ago? With all the hard work you've been doing lately with the garden and everything else you sure will be raping some blessing soon.

Thank ya. Hope to start the cabin soon that man has been working lots of hay so need to let him get done with his tractor

Ok....I grew up making money on farms in central KY loading hay onto wagons and into barns in the hot summer, but I’ve never heard of tedding! Grew up around farms but not farming! I always thought it was cut, rake and bale! What does tedding do?
@FlutyLickHomestead3 жыл бұрын
It just fluffs up the hay so it drys faster. Especially in thick hay

I was reading through 1st Corinthians again the other day and came across verse 13 in chapter 3: "each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done." Obviously the main application of that verse is in someone's ministry, but I think it also applies secondarily to our jobs which should be an extension of our ministry. As Christians, especially Christian men, will the work we do in our jobs withstand God's holy fire in the day of judgement? Do we work for the Glory of God, or the glory of man, or the glory of a dollar? I think much of what you and your family do, plus other Christians who "tame the earth", is an example of the kind of work that will withstand His fire. Of course, I ain't God so I can't say that for a surety. That helps me when it's a-pouring the rain and I'm out there tending to the livestock to know that God will try my work. Anywho, that was on my mind when I saw your video. How are those taters you'uns planted doing? May God bless you 'n yours Brother.
@FlutyLickHomestead3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that, taders are doing good. Now that hay is over I’ll do a garden update next week!
