I miss my mom. She cooked like this... She was born in 1924 in S.E. Colorado. My brother has done a lot of genealogy research, and we come from a long line of "hillbillies", a.k.a. Williams'. The accent is natural to me, although my Colorado accent is more neutral. I'm offended by the southern accent, and I hear the difference. But back to my mom. I miss her so... She passed at 97, in 2021. Being male, she didn't teach a lot of these details, I imagine she thought it was all intuitive. No, not really. Thank you young people. Truly.

I've probably said this a dozen times, but Jared, I absolutely LOVE your videos!!!!! They are so calming and remind me so much of my childhood and watching my precious Daddy plant his garden. I've never tried mixing my fall seeds with flour but I'll definitely try it. Praying the Good Lord sends rain yall's way and here at my house too!!!

Howdy Jared- done got turnip greens up here. I’ve heard from the old timers to get em in by the middle of August. We’ll see how they do. We don’t have the yellow jackets but I went to battle with red wasps this morning that had taken up residence in the smoke house. I just smoked em out. Not a good idea…. I don’t think they was happy with me. Hope y’all are doing well. God bless y’all

That bird thought it was getting fed but, didn't seem to want it. Are the yellow jackets bothering your beehives?

Make a trap for the yellow jackets with a big soda bottle and some pink dyed sugar water. Cut 1/2 inch holes about 2 inches up and leave a top flap in place inside the bottle. Works really well. Good luck

Praying for more rain. It’s been dry most places here in USA. That’s a neat idea on seeding. Sure could have enjoyed more time with you and your ventures.

Mustard greens are my favorite thing from the garden. Just a bowl of greens and some cornbread makes me happy. I love parsnips and turnips too. All with cornbread, of course. I love the fiddle rendition of Leaning On the Everlasting Arms that played while you were planting seeds. It is just beautiful! I saw The Hillbillies were also having a rough time with yellow jackets. They live around Whitesburg Ky. No one wants to tangle with yellow jackets. They are not friendly! Hope ya'll are all doing well. Have a great weekend and God bless!
