After watching this, I am more than convinced that as Africans, we need to be more connected and share our experiences. We need to have access to our own music across the continent. We consume more western media than African media and I feel ashamed I did not know who this guy is until today. He is clearly a big artist in Ethopia and would undoubtedly be much bigger if the continent had access to his music as easily as it has other world music. He is clear a larger than life character and important to the Ethopian people.

Teddy Afro advocates, sharing your idea, the solidarity of all Africans in his songs. For instance, "oh Africaye" and "korkuma (knocking down people) Africa." He sung about the pain and sorrow of African people inflicted by our own. It's a good listen, I highly recommend it. One love!

He has been around for about 15yrs. His songs are mostly about socio-political justice and history lessons. He is trying to bridge huge political divides amongst us with his songs. I can confidently say most of us adore him and some hate him like no other. All he preaches is love. He is also a fan of Bob marley. Shout out to your genuine reaction.

The song is actually a sad song (sociopolitical) Sembere (scar/bruise) He is saying he lost his confidence because he is sustaining scar after scar / bruise after bruise Gura bicha (only boasting, no real confidence) Love your reactions respect!
@fyzy8864 жыл бұрын
I respectfully disagree...I think the song is about falling in love again even if he got hurt with all the bruises, and he is confident he won’t do it again, boasting..here he is falling in love again and again because the power of love is always there to win us because with out it life is just..boring..js

Hey guys, I love your reaction to teddy's Sembere. The whole song is about our scar. He promises himself he wouldn't let anyone hurt hem anymore. But yet again being hurt again before even his scars heal. The edium is, he is mad his country is going from one dictatorship to another. That is very powerful. Love Teddy.

the fact that he wrote a lyrics on how his bruise "sembere" ,( title of the song in Amharic language), affected his confidence, and then he composed it into a reggae music is simply genius. His message in general is how them authorities in power are violating people's rights and fear mongering. Teddy Afro, Slaute you brother!!!

I will send you one of the best religious songs of Teddy Afro . It’s about the ultimate fate of a human being which is death. He says, ultimately, God will call everyone to his destination: death. It’s heart aching slow melody. Thank you for your wonderful work! The song is called ‘Zelesegna’ which I really don’t know the meaning.

The moral of the music is that. When he loved someone and he was rejected and then he felt the pain of love and he didn't relief from that yet. and he swore to all people that he won't love again and without finishing his sentence within like a year he loved someone so...so he is singing 'I bragged about never seeing a woman but I can't' ...." 'sambare'--is a word for getting hit very dangerously and the thing that grows in your skin like your skin gets very red so he is singing with out even getting rid of that i fell in love with other girls...
