To those concerned about brushing: these videos are sped up quite a bit and that distorts the brushing sound making it sound much worse than it really is. I'm not applying much pressure while brushing and the brush never makes contact with the skin. The sound you're hearing is the brush separating micro tangles in the puppy's fur, you'll notice it gets quieter when the tangles are cleared. If it were very aggressive brushing, I wouldn't have soo many dogs happily sit through it, which are just about all the dogs I groom.

It’s not just the brushing. I don’t hear you say one word of praise to this dog. He sits there for a very long time and all you say is “no”, “stop that”, “shhh”, etc. You even ask him if he wants to go for a ride half way through when you’re just teasing him! Poor thing gets so excited and you don’t even mean it. How could you treat a dog this way?! Abominable in my eyes. I don’t care how good the cut is- you ARE amazing at your skills no doubt, but if you were my groomer I would run the other way and never go back.

@pennysage28894 жыл бұрын
bikergurl50 groomers are professionals, if you don’t understand what they are doing ask before you pass judgment. They know what they are doing and treat dogs with respect and compassion, most have dogs themselves. I say this because I’m a groomer myself and I feel that there are a lot of misconceptions people have about what we do. I understand being protective over an anxious dog, but it can be frustrating when people try to tell us how to do our job. Most dogs we do are well accustomed to the grooming process and if it’s to much of a struggle for either us or the dog, we don’t do it. If your dog is that anxious you shouldn’t bring it to the groomers in the first place. My advice to you is to groom your dog yourself. That way grooming will be a happy experience for not only your pup, but you to. I find that grooming my dog at home is a great bonding time for us and he loves it!

I realize I am the lone ranger in the comments here. That's fine. I was appalled at the roughness and insensitivity with which Anna handled this dog. She was rough & jagged with Teddy. It was his first grooming with her, and he panted heavily & shook from fear & nervousness the entire time. She didn't address calming or making him comfortable. Her munchkin voice-over hid the sharp commanding tone in her voice. I would never take my dog to her.
@pameladavis84192 ай бұрын
I felt the same way you did. The dog was clearly terrified and there was nothing done to try to soothe or calm him. And is that blood on the table from where she nicked him? Perhaps if there had been more explanation as do what she was doing (using which tools, etc) it would have explained some of this.

Now that’s a great groom! He looks great and didn’t fuss too much. I get my girl back and she looks choppy all around. Had to look for a new groomer. It was the last straw kind of moment because I brought her in at 8:30 and didn’t get her back until 4 sometimes 5. I groomed my Tibetan terrier myself. He was my first dog and I thought if my friend could do his little cocker spaniel, why shouldn’t I! That was a long time ago and now I’m 71 and got no bandwidth to do it myself. Wish I lived where this woman was.

I'm so excited to see you making these videos! I envy your work on Insta, as a fellow Twin Cities groomer. You are so talented! I'm only 3 years in and just got into my first private shop 6 months ago. Excited to learn and grow beyond my very basic training through Petco 3 years ago! Videos like this are very helpful.(:

Pretty slick move when grooming the front right leg 23:31 and the pup lifted it she held his front left leg up in the air so he couldn't move the leg she was working on

David Bias actually I ( and probably also others) use this technique at horses that don’t want to hold their hoofes still while I’m working, caring or cleaning them :D

Her scissor work is excellent. This video seemed like this is Super Cuts for dogs sped up. However she does have a good eye and ability for grooming, and very talented!

First video I've watched of your grooming and I'm already hooked liked and subscribed this was so satisfying to watch and I love that you blew him out all the way before grooming (I've seen groomers take a poodle or doodle and barely use the hand dryer then stick in a cage to dry with the hair still wavy and curling wet and it drives me crazy because it never looks like a complete groom.

I am a mobile dog groomer and I wish my dryer was that powerful to get my doodles that straight of hair
