The most stupid thing Fittler did last year was to play Tedesco in game 3. The series was lost so it was the perfect time to road test Edwards in that arena. What did anyone learn by having Tedesco play in a dead rubber? It was just a game to pad his stats.

They played half the panthers side and watched as Tedesco hogged the ball set after set after set. First half game 1 last year. Cleary passes 11 times to Tedesco for no result. He passes only TWICE to Luai and the second time Luai puts martin over. And the internet geniuses say "gee, the Penrith connection doesn't work".

Edwards seems to be one of those players that given the chance to play for NSW, he would kill it so well that everyone will be thinking post game why wasn't he selected before this time. To answer the question, yes, Teddy's time is up, it was up in 2022. Edwards not entering the team is just another chapter of Fittler absolutely squandring NSW players. Not playing Wighton at 5/8 and Latrel at center consistently in their peak was so stupid. DCE wouldnt be playing origin now if they did. Playing Nicolcockstag instead of Ferguson in game one at Suncorp was stupid. Turbo last year, stupid, then Cook instead of Murray to fill in, FFS. Last year seeing the Hammer gleefully frolicking past Teddy, falling over for the thousandth time was the kick in the guts after the wake up call we all already heard, except Freddy He should not have been allowed to be coach under one of his earlier policies which denied Mitchel, what a tool. We are definitely underdogs this year for the first time since before Freddy.

Origin win or lose depends on defence not who can play more flashy, picking players out of position, picking certain players in the name of club combination, not picking certain players because they've never played together or might play same side of the field, both left footed kicker or right footed, all these just myths and the reason we're losing series after series

@@daleviker5884 Tedesco has at least displayed this kind of X-Factor before, Edwards doesn't really - he is the wrong fit for the Blues' requirements. The Blues don't really need a workhorse in their 1 per se, granted he'd be very good defensively but the Blues' problems were in generating opportunities (which is why Cody Walker worked so well in Game 3), the Blues' problems are in generating opportunities because their attack isn't creative enough to give QLD troubles and Edwards just doesn't fit there. Walker would just capitalise on the opportunities created (which is what he's very good at), but he's not the solution to the problem. If anything, it would be a really bad idea to put Edwards in there without changing the 6 or 7 because if you chuck him in there and their 6 or 7 don't do anything good, then Edwards could cop the blame as the "saviour" but then end up losing confidence in his game.

Walker has failed repeatedly when he's played games where the series was still alive. Secondly, Edwards is not just a workhorse. Have a look at his solo tries against the roosters and manly. He's very creative, he just happens to be a creative player who is also a workhorse. He's a big part of Penrith winning three grand finals.

People screaming for teddy's head. In 2022 it was meant to be Cleary's year, he failed us in game 1 and 3. Payne Haas the greatest prop today haven't delievered in origin series and grand final but people wants him picked. Tommy the injury prone gets picked last year and gets injured in the second game and cost freddy to move cook to centre where qld had a field day. Teddy has been oustanding for blues but the only one game he let us down was the only one time he ever let us down, 2023 game 1 where he hogged the ball too much, and collins jumped over him. Rather than that one game, haas, cleary, turbo, all have contributed to nsw losing but none of those players get much critics as Teddy. Yes he is captain but he is only one player in a team of super players that most times let the team down and the state down. Put some respect on NSW greatest Fullback. What edwards is doing now. Teddy was doing when he was in his early 20s. In saying that edwards is just teddy but younger and I would've picked papenhuyzen this year because he gets through his work but also can ball play attack anywhere. But i'll be selecting edwards and to'o on the wings and give edwards the license to roam the field.
