Love it and I can't wait to visit! I've always looked up to Colonel Roosevelt and appreciate the efforts in preserving Sagamore Hill.

I would love to go see the house. I would feel honored to see the home of one of our greatest presidents. He sure was an optimist. When you read his famous quotes and study bios of the man, he really had the persistence to keep fighting even when he was sickly as a child. I attest the greatness of TR coming from his dad, who never stopped believing and loved him enough to give him his strength to overcome obstacles in life. Most of us wouldn’t be able to overcome. Someday, I hope to be able to see this wonderful home.

Teddy Roosevelt was definitely a leader you could look up to. I really wish we had someone like him in the White House now instead of that incompetent puppet.

I've only seen Mount Vernon. I'd like to visit more presidential homes and TR was one of my favorite presidents.

He also visited a family member who owned Gelston Castle in Jordanville NY and he loved it! He would go fishing and hunting etc. It was a lovely little castle but now in ruins, but a huge lovely more modern home privately owned is on the land but they do host events for the more famous. They have music etc. Also, they allow Revolutionary Re-enactments sometimes to take place as they have plenty of land. The castle home ( Gelston) after the family passed, was owned a couple more times, and once it was a Residential home for elderly people. Thank you for the video and the history given. Really am very proud of both brothers. Have to say too that Pres Van Burin was a distant cousin to them. He retired in Lindenwold in Kinderhook NY. They do give tours. It was so great that the electric was done and yet handled in such a fragile and thoughtful way. Realize it had to not only be so highly an expensive repair for the home, but also alot of work. I am positive the Roosevelts would have really appreciated the love given to this home. So many of thee lovely omes are just being left to crumble in NYS or they are purchased by regular people who probably would not have had money like this to repair this home to such a grand level. It is very hard to heat and pay taxes and keep up homes like this, any more. So sad really! But Thank God this is one that is being saved as long as possible and seen and respected by so many!

I'm a distant Delano cousin of FDR, but am an ardent admirer of Teddy, too. I saw security cameras in a couple of the shots, but am wondering if there is fire and smoke detection on a monitored system? Sagamore Hill is definitely on my bucket list for my next New York vacation! ✨🛸✨

One correction - Roosevelt also owned his ranch and the home he built in the 1880's in the BadLands of North Dakota. He participated in building the home (cabin) there with two friends from Maine.

My favorite President....besides Trump, is Teddy Roosevelt. I can't wait to come visit this site. Will be awesome to see Sagamore Hill. Personally as a US tax paying citizen, I'm glad tax dollars go to this and should continue to go to funding the restoration of this beautiful historic home and the staff to upkeep it. Worth it.

I love history with a passion very educational and tells about people before they came famous and when they came wealthy since birth and then their family tree their friends the grandchildren and so on and how many years they lived what age they were what they love to eat what house they lived in what state they lived in what area they were where they grew up were birthplace what they wrote in what horse they rode on and what kind of farms they had a lot of it and it's probably worth a penny who knows a dime

Ops! I believe that when TR was NYC Police Commissioner, he commuted to work in NYC everyday on the Long Island Railroad. He would bicycle down to the Oyster Bay Station and take his bicycle on the train with him. Also, I believe that TR's gun collection is still owned by his descendants.
