I’m currently 15 and I love Teddy! It’s so interesting how he works and he’s adorable too! The cartoon is one of my favourite cartoons! It’s well written. It’s obvious that Ken Forsse took care in the writing of both the tapes, cartoon and live action special.

It was hard to pick my favorite, because he originally came with the tan shirt, so thats a classic, but the green winter outfit is adorable, BUT I had another pajama... it was like a peach color with multiple colored polka dots on it... it was a footed one piece lol

The original Teddy was made from 1985-90. I got one for Christmas the very first year they came out in 1985. From Sept of 85 to mid 1986, they were made with a metal plated cassette deck (superior sound quality). The metal proved unreliable due to kids forcing the tape player door shut damaging the actuating tabs. It was also too heavy for small children to carry, so they switched to the plastic in mid 1986. In late 1987-early 1988, they went from making them with 3 servo motors (one motor for nose, one for jaw, and one for eyes) to 2 servo motors (one motor for eyes and one motor that operated both the nose and the jaw and then a spring was placed behind the nose in place of that motor). The 2 servo motor also had a battery cover with hinges at the top to keep it from coming completely disconnected from his body.

I feel that 80's toys like these are way too valuable and made too well to toss out for newer cheaper made toys (like the new 2017 edition of Teddy Ruxpin for example that has an internal hard drive to download the stories instead of a cassette player).

I tried fixing him and I got him to move him to work but he still don’t work very well but even better I finally found a teddy ruxpin that is in better shape then mine I should also mention it was a good deal as it came with not just one but 2 teddy ruxpins with one of them being the later 1998 models made by yes entertainment and it also comes with a tape that I don’t have and it was only $35!
