I love the Bonnie Raitt version but having it sung by a male singer lends a new view to the emotions of the song. He has such a soulful voice!

India girl, we all relate along with you. Every woman has experienced pouring out her love for a man who's willing to take her to bed but not meet up with her heart. And had to face up to it at some point, and find a way to let it go. And I'm sitting here not believing what I see, because the man in my life that I had this exact, and I mean exact, experience with -- his name is Carter. The name written beautifully on Teddy's shirt. This one is for all of us deserving ladies, on our walks away from all the Carters out there. (I should add that he is in my past now, and I'm 3 years into a life with a wonderful man who treasures all my love -- and gives all of his back freely. Worth the wait, for sure.) Thanks for this one, India! I've never heard of Teddy but I love his voice!!

@Metallimama Maybe it’s just my generation but most of the women my age I see actually like being treated like they’re worthless, or treated like they’re not important or just like a piece of shit in general. It honestly just boggles my mind. I see all these beautiful women with douchebags and I don’t understand it. They seem to be happy though. It’s very frustrating because I’m a nice guy who wants to love somebody but being the nice guy has gotten me rejected every single time. Hookup culture is not on the fault of men. I can’t find a woman who wants to be loved and I’m a decently attractive guy.

This song always snags my heart. When my husband and I divorced, my only daughter wanted to live with her father and his new family. My ex told me before she left my home that once he was done with me, nobody would want me. My daughter hasn't spoken to me since 2006. I've sung this song to her so many times. Thanks for your reaction, India. I knew this song would hit you. Take care and be well, hon. Peace.
