My mom loved the Lord with all her heart and died early at 51. As a small child I would see her in the kitchen doing dishes and she would be singing this old song. My how I miss her tonight. Hug your living loved ones and tell them how much you love them because when the Lord takes them home it will change you forever. I am 65 now but I still remember her singing this like it was yesterday. May this song bring you hope and comfort!

He is soon going to bring His Kingdom government to rule over this earth and bring an end to the madness. Matthew 6:10; Daniel 2:44. Then these changes will take place among many, Revelation 21:4,5, Psalms 37:9-11,29; Matthew 5:5; John 5:28,29. Ezekiel 34:25; Isaiah 65:20-25; Isaiah 11:6-9.

Marvin will awaken after great changes have taken place here on earth, John 5:28,29. He may have realized that we are living in the last days of wickedness but didn't know that the end of wickedness would soon come. Jesus told Christians to pray for God's Kingdom to come. God's Kingdom is a heavenly government with Jesus King. Soon as King of kings he will bring beautiful changes to this earth. There will be no more death, pain or sorrow on earth, Revelation21:4.5. No more wickedness, Psalms 37:9-11; John3:16. The righteous hearted meek ones will inherit the earth and live forever on a cleansed earth; Psalms 37:29; Matthew 5:5; Proverbs 2:21,22. The earth will be cultivated into the Paradise that God intended in the beginning, Genesis1:28; Isaiah 55:11. Jesus will do on a grand scale all the things he did when he walked the earth, including raising Marvin and others from death, John 5:28,29. Then he and the multitudes will work together to make earth beautiful under the loving direction of the Prince of peace! Then God's will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven Matthew6:10! Amen! Hallelujah!

Vana mcclary, Marvin was way before his time as far as his songs are concerned. They would be really relevant today. I went to one of his concerts the month before he was killed. Sexual Healing was his hit at the time. He changed clothes a couple of times during the concert. Sexual Healing was the last song he sung. He came out in just silk pajama bottoms and a silk robe. A lady I was with wasn’t even 5’ tall. She went right up to the stage, Marvin reached down, kissed her hand, and she jumped 5’ in the air with that kiss. Wonderful me,Oreos.

I was born & raised in Detroit, Michigan. When I was 13 years of age, after hearing Marvin Gaye's music I had to meet him! (I had every album he ever made!) I did not know what a “Concert” was, but I snuck out the house, went to Cobo Hall, and somehow made it to the front row! Marvin held my hand and sang a part of "Distant Lover" to me. I personally know one of his former band members & co-writers. 99.9% of the time I will not finish listening to anyone attempting to sing Marvin's music. Teddy Swims is an exception, and I "approve" of him singing Marvin Gaye's music : ) Allow me to respectfully, say "This White boy can sang!" Teddy has soul! Never seen a tattoo I liked, however I LOVE Teddy's timer tattoo! Got chills when I saw Black Lives Matter at the end of this video. Was stunned when I saw Teddy's $5,000 pledge. WE LOVE YOU TEDDY! You've got great taste in music! Peace

Gaye was a musical genus and somehow Teddy has managed to capture his soulfulness and love of mankind in a way that only Teddy can. In the midst of one of our nation’s darkest hours, Teddy and the boys have once again shown us how powerful words and music can be. And in the hands of a gifted singer, those words and music can help heal the soul and open the heart. Thank you, Teddy. You raise the bar time and time again. Sending much love and admiration. And yes, as a white, middle-aged man of privilege I say and will always say, all black lives matter. They have always mattered. It’s high time we recognize it. Peace and love to all

I’ve never heard any singer sing with such feeling as Teddy Swims. He sings the same songs over and over with such feeling. He is amazing. Love him.

No better song to choose for times like these. What really is going on? Why do I have to raise my kids in times like these? The silver lining in it... God chose me to teach them how to love everyone, and not only love them, but fight for them.

Real music with purpose, meaning and relevance and timeless, Marvin Gaye was a genius. And, when you hear Teddy give respect to this song it's a testament to the greatness of Marvin and the deep talent of Teddy....not an easy song to pull off.

Marvin Gaye one of the very best singer/songwriters to ever have a microphone. How many musicians can say that there music is still relevant and has the same meaning as it did almost 50 yrs ago. Music that moves your soul and is peace in your troubled mind.

My mantra for times like these: UNITY IS WHERE PROGRESS BEGINS. Teddy, sir, you're doing it right. Beautiful cover of an all too relevant song for the problems we face as a society today. Our darker skinned brothers and sisters deserve a world where they can feel safe. Our children deserve a better, kinder world to grow up in. And that's only ever going to happen if we can all work together to bring about positive change in our communities. I'll be heading to my second peaceful protest tonight. The first one ended in tear gas and rubber bullets. Multiple people getting injured, tears, and screams that echoed throughout the night. The people of my community continued to stand together through multiple waves of gas and rubber bullets. Singing songs and chanting in unity. Peaceful as could be. The very next night, we heard all about another protest that happened just a couple of towns over in Fayetteville, AR. NO GAS. NO RUBBER BULLETS. THE POLICE TOOK A KNEE WITH THE PEOPLE AND RAISED A FIST WHILE CHANTING "BLACK LIVES MATTER" AS ONE COMMUNITY. THAT is unity. And THAT is how we're going to see progress made! Stay safe out there and much love. - Kaleb

I so agree...... we’ll done Teddy. Love, compassion and heart just flows from Teddy. Grateful for all you give to the world! Some days are dark and heavy then I reach for Teddy. He is always there to lift up my soul in song. Took care of my mom with Alzheimer’s until she crossed over. Now I take care of My dad with dementia. He just turned 89. Teddy’s music sets me right....he lifts me up. I can dance across the kitchen, sing into my dads room and realize how much love is around me. Teddys music gives me the strength to keep going. I love my dad, just sometimes are rougher than others. Teddy makes it real and full. Btw my 89 year old dad loves Teddy too! Thank you soooo much Teddy!!

At the time I listened to this song Teddy, the NAACP on the television was having an 8min. 46 sec. of silence, to honor George Floyd and his memorial service today happening in Minneapolis today. To say the least, it gave me chills. Absolutely beautiful song, and perfect timing. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace
