Another watch where I didn’t care for when released seeing pictures and videos, but just tried one on today and mannn….I think I want one. To me, wears like a 40mm max, maybe closer to 39mm. Amazing watch!
@thegorn Жыл бұрын
I love everything about this piece. The only thing I would suggest to Formex is they make the green a darker forest green for better contrast, and give the crown an embossed logo rather than an etched crown, to further separate them from the run-of-the-mill microbrands and Ali Express jobs. For variety keep the green one with the "pumpkin" lume, change the blue one to be a "sand" lume, and make the black one a more whitish lume.

Great video, Teddy! This is a good watch. Not a huge fan of the stenciled Arabics and would prefer a more conventional font, but I could live with it. Otherwise, it looks great - I think my favorite color is the Ash Grey model. The lume is outstanding - love the fact that the numerals are lumed, not just the indices. Best wishes.

The shots of the petrol blue dial (e,g., at 3:57) have the blue (or 'grey') rather than black leather strap, right? It looks a lot darker than the product images from Formex.

Hamilton can use Powermatic 80 ;) My problem with Sellita is... they need upgrade more their mouvements. Sorry, for me 38h power reserve is a big meh for this days.
@raylandraybels94622 жыл бұрын
Agree. Biggest gripe about my oris big crown.
@thegorn Жыл бұрын
Meh. The Powermatic 80 has a design that can't be serviced by general watchmakers, so the Tissots and Certinas and others have to be send to the AD for expensive servicing. Also they achieve that with a lower beat rate of 3Hz which means less accuracy and less shock resistance. Sure there are PM80's that are COSC but that's under lab conditions not out in the field.... and this is a field watch. When you own many watches you find pretty much all your pieces need setting when you swap over, and hey if it really bothers you then just get an inexpensive winder when not on the wrist.
@lukerabin50792 жыл бұрын
Nice case design, really clever and subtle, but the numbers are trying way too hard. The hands are a very interesting redux of the typical syringe style often found on field watches.

Lovely looking watch (love the hands and numerals), good brand, nice movement great if you insist on Swiss made - as a functional field watch I think I'd definitely consider it over Hamilton. However at $795-$945 I think I'd take a serious look at Boldr Venture Carbon at $300 - less than half the cost but also a respected brand and a watch with a similar look. I've also seen other reviewers with mixed reviews of the comfortability of the Formex clasp which I believe is also used on other Formex watches - JOMW comes to mind.
@codenamechicken912 жыл бұрын
the Boldr Venture also manages 200m water resistance as well
@chandlerbrickenden73222 жыл бұрын
I have two of those Boldr Venture watches in my collection as GADA watches and they punch well above their weight considering they can usually be had new for $250. Love my Hamilton, but I don't trust 100m of WR and a push-in crown for a day on the water.

I don’t know a ton about them other than people have very high opinions of their watches. That said, I feel like their name and placement on the watch cheapens it. Idk, it sounds like a watch name you’d find on Ali express.

Not really doing it for me unfortunately, in my eyes 39mm would be better for a field watch and the dial doesn't stand out, I will stay with my boldr I think , thanks for the review !

For such a innovative brand I'm a bit dissapointed about the case. Its a blatant ripoff of the RZE Resolute thats been around a couple of years. And the RZE is half the price with scratch resistant titanium.
@tactofu2 жыл бұрын
Hardly. I see what you're saying with the sharp downturn on the lugs, but other than that, two completely different cases. That being said, RZE, Boldr, and SWC all make great Ti field watches.
@TheBimmer742 жыл бұрын
Any field watch should have military time as well on the dial. Other than that it's a great option with very cool colors. Just bought a Bunker which was much less expensive. The lume on the Bunker is incredible.
@marcod45382 жыл бұрын
I can’t get behind the dial… Formex is all about technology and modern ideas, so the vintage hands and aesthetic doesn’t make sense to me. Everything else is great, I won’t even complain about the size if you’re saying it wears a bit smaller than 41.
@robertsacknoff9522 жыл бұрын
The word “Field” printed on the dial is abominable and unimaginative.
@argon14902 жыл бұрын
Field watch @ 41mm? Somewhat low contrast dials ?? Number legibility compromised to look modern?? Hmm... "Field-adjacent" watch perhaps. Hardened titanium - Nice. SW200 movement - Ok. 10.4mm height - OK. Unique? Sure. Cut-out indices are interesting though raised ones are harder to manufacture and properly align. $985 - Seems high.
