oh YAY explanation time// Christian is an Australian-korean who is an ex-idol, he was a film student in Sydney and decided to pursue dancing. he was a leader of an idol group that disbanded. he now is a part of a collective called DPR (You would love their stuff). he creates his own music, but also his own music videos! he has huge parts in the creative direction and production of his MV'S. He is also very open about his struggles with mental health and bipolar, different characters hes built around his music and his own life. he's a deeply interesting. I would definitely recommend watching his interview on the Zach sang show to help better understand him and his brain.

DPR IAN (also known as Christian Yu) is best known as a Korean Australian singer and rapper, but he also is a director and editor. In fact, he is the director and editor-chief of co-founded collective DPR (Dream Perfect Regime).

To explain the story a bit, you do have to watch Nerves, No Blueberries, Scaredy Cat and so Beautiful as well. But essentially, he mentioned that he has created a character called MITO to represent his Bipolar, Mito is the one eyed dude, the one that has the eye ring and looks like an angel of darkness. The whole album is exploring how his ups and downs go and how he feels during the highs and lows. So far, we only have this video containing the first part of the album, we are WAITING for the second one. Its crazy good. He edits everything himself, I cant remember if he did all of the directing as well

Wonderful, I'm happy I watched it again with all of you. I'm not sure you followed what was being said in the chat but the story is actually about his Bipolar disorder, sor when he speaks about "mood swings", it's litteraly. Someone will comment better about it, but in the end it's not that he doesn't care anymore but that his "mood swinged self", called MITO took the lead. DPR Ian is on a different level. He's a whole world by himself.

Yes!! Dream Perfect Regime, I think you'd love their projects. Ian and Live are the 2 who started DPR I think. Live is a rapper, Ian is behind the visual aspect, directing editing etc. He released 2 albums both creating one story. His interview with zach sang esplains everything if you'd like to check it out. It's worth checking out the whole Miito album. Or any other mv, sorry I'm fangirling. They're really good

In order to understand the story of what’s going on, you should watch all of the music videos he did because they are all connected together aka why you see names on boxes at the beginning of the video. And the way to tell when he is ‘Mito’ he will have one eye and the other as a ring. Mito is basically about his bipolar. I love the whole story.

I love how you said either he or the director is schizophrenic, when it turns out he IS the director/sfx/editor, has bipolar disorder, and said in past IG lives that he thinks he has undiagnosed ADHD lol Edit: There's a multi-part video with @JREKML where Ian breaks down the video from beginning to end.
