There is usually a Chinese story behind Lay's MVs, for example, LIT is the story of an ancient Chinese king named Xiangyu. This MV, Kai Tian, is the story of Pangu. Pangu was a giant who slept for 18,000 years in the dark chaotic universe, before heaven and earth had been separated. One day, Pangu woke up suddenly. When he saw the darkness around him, he swung his axe (kai tian) and with a loud noise it split the darkness. Which becomes the sky and the earth. After the separation of heaven and earth, Pangu thought it might still reverse or combine again, so he kept them separated himself. As the sky rose ten feet a day, Pangu grew taller and taller. For many years, heaven and earth gradually took shape, and Pangu was so tired that he fell. His breath became the wind, his voice became the thunder; his eyes became the moon and sun. His arms and legs became N,E,S,W poles of the earth; his skin became the earth, his blood became rivers and his sweat into the rain.

I love the unique sound of the "suona" (traditional chinese horn) in the background when he said "Daqi Daqi Tei". It really brings the song up to another level. Kai Tian (Opening the Heaven) references Pangu, the mythical figure described as having “the head of a snake and the body of a dragon”.The song was released on January 1, a date chosen to coincide with the transition from the Year of the Dragon to the Year of the Snake. In Chinese mythology, the universe was initially a chaotic, formless mass, like a giant egg. Inside this “egg” lived a being named Pangu. One day, Pangu woke up and determined to escape. He used a giant axe to strike the egg-like chaos, and separated heaven from earth. Eventually, Pangu grew exhausted and lay down. His eyes were transformed into sun and moon, ushering in the solar era, which explains Lay’s heterochromatic eyes in the MV. This links to the mismatched-eye motif seen on the cover of his album “莲” (Lit) and in the final scene of the “What Do You Need” MV from his first album “Lose Control”, where the left eye is briefly revealed as heterochromatic. The image of Pangu and the solar era also appeared in the teaser for Flying Apsaras. The “solar era” refers to a 12-year cycle, aligning with Lay’s 12th year since debut. Starting from January 1, it marks the beginning of his 13th year in the industry and the start of a new era - an era of Mpop. It feels like the conceptual framework Lay wants to present was already formed at the start of his solo career. Every step since then has been a building block for this grand system. He spent 12 years completing the first “ enormous circle”in his heart. What kind of mind is this? It’s absolutely incredible.

I think my favourite from him is 酒 (Jiu) but Sheep is good. So sheep and goat in Mandarin is the same word and it kinda has a similar meaning as G.O.A.T :D I think you'd like it. I love how mixes Chinese traditional music with pop elements (C-pop, M-pop, K-pop...), those songs are always fire... And his dance skills... gosh!
