Jisoo is actually the blackpink member you liked the most in previous reactions .. she does rap in some (typa girl), but you’re 100% on the nose that she is a vocalist. This is her solo debut (last to debut from group) and was highly anticipated .. her vocals are (IMO) greatly under appreciated .. oh, and she’s THE global ambassador for DIOR .. officially the #1 fashion spokesperson having increased their sales by 400% in the last 3-4 years .. I don’t know if they had the colors in mind when writing the song, but it wouldn’t surprise me. They flew her and the dancers from Korea to LA (universal studios) to shoot the video, as usual for blackpink, sparing no expense. Just for context, all this in the middle of one of the biggest world tours ever. BTW, love the versatility you show with different types of music here, and that drop is sick. (Note: they’re playing chess, not checkers .. There, the main character lives in various guises with various personalities in the multiverse. The lyrics and atmosphere of this song are very familiar to Koreans. It seems to be in touch with the sentiment of "Arirang", an oral folk song that is widely known but actually has a much more diverse tradition, and part of it seems to have borrowed from a Korean children's song, "Why did you come to my house?(우리 집에 왜 왔니?) I came to look for flowers.(꽃 찾으러 왔단다)" It is also reminiscent of "Azalea Flower" by Kim So-wol, a poet loved by Koreans. This song seems to be dealing with some feelings of growth for the change of time. It also sings the sad but calm memories of love and parting. The simple yet lyrical yet beautiful melody matches the syllables of the Korean language, creating a sense of tragic but centered musical peace. I want to say that it is a very Korean song.

Flower by Jisoo have a lot of symbolisms and also wordplay in Korean but sadly cannot be directly translated to English. The song can also be about sad love or about herself leaving her negative past. It’s like an art that the interpretation depends on the beholder. A refreshing kpop music honestly with the combination of modern pop, traditional / folk song and trot? It’s nice to hear you appreciate Jisoo’s new song. 😊

The way I interpreted it is she was a shy flower when she was dating the person she was with, hence the more conservative dresses. She wasn’t treated right so she left. After that she bloomed into a more confident woman. She yanks off her pearls and wears more revealing (but still elegant) clothes and brighter colors (like the black and red dress).

Jisoo is🔥 All the BP girls are so talented on their own too. What I got from the video symbolism and the lyrics is that she left the relationship because he fucked up somehow. Her attitude seems upset it didn’t work at some points, but she’s also just like you played yourself 🤷🏻‍♀️✌🏻She’s the flower, (the changing colors of the outfits, etc.) so since she left, he’s left with only the scent of her.
