Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That being said; I think I.N's voice suits the Japanese language really well, and maybe that's the reason why he's shining in this album like the maknae on top star he is. And he's obviously maturing, getting more sure of himself, and working hard on his vocals.

Hyunjin was on time and it's exactly as the studio version lol I've only heard this kind of delay after the "drop" in a Spanish-speaking indie band, so it was fascinating for me, cuz it made it so familiar and nostalgic 👌 Also, I think you're not that familiar with their soft side hahaha you should check more if you want, so you can get used to their soft vocals hahaha

hyunjin was on time, it was exactly like how the audio version. it sounded tricky, yes, but he was perfectly on time. his voice as well was progressing, thus he sounded just like he usually does, and better! i suggest, maybe you can listen to the audio track more then listen to the first take one after that. thank you, anyway, for trying to point it out ☺👍🏼

My opinion on Hyunjin's performance here was that when he sang at first, it definitely did sound different than the original(originals kinda softer), but it wasn't a bad difference imo. I also think that he was perfectly on time with the drop(and i think he might've also been counting it, too). And yes, after Teddy commented on hyunjin in this performance, I went back and forth comparing this and the studio version

For me Hyunjin's parts sound a bit odd because of the way he enunciates the words, for japanese speakers this prolonged singing style makes the words sound a bit off, but overall he still did well melodically

dude, I know you said it with no ill intentions, but just listen to the studio and this one side by side.... hyunjin (like all the other members) is literally on the exact time, so your comments seem a little too harsh for them to be just a feeling you got, that it's not actually correct (the timing part).

In the studio version that part where you thought Hyunjin was late it's actually delayed like that on the track. You think it's gunna come and it doesn't until the next beat just like he sung it. The end of that phrase is supposed to end as the chorus came in, so he was perfectly on time. He did well in this I thought.

I dont think Hyunjin's voice sounds different than normal. In the beginning he sounds very quiet tho, to me it seems like he is nervous. The last part he sings is done beautifully and towards the end of the sentence he sings a little more nasally. He hasnt really had a note at that height that wasnt sung in headvoice so its his first time we hear his mixed voice I believe. You dont hear that a lot, if ever, from him. At least thats what it sounds like to me. And the prechorus part with IN, like you said, the instrumental sounds very loud compared to their voices. They couldve mixed it a bit better in my opinion. But I love the video nontheless. :)

I've been a stay for almost 2 years and i do think Hyunjin sounded a little different than usual! But he sang beautifully! And yeah I agree the instrumental was a little too loud.

Unfortunately, the mixing is set prior to their recording, as is the instrumentals volume. That's the one of the rules of the first take, there is absolutely no post production... So, whoever set the mixers (specially for Hyunjin) didn't set it correctly. I know it's not the members that get to do that, with kpop groups it never is. It's the stage team who goes over it all with them during sound check, and asks them what all needs to be done. So yeah, sadly the team setting the mixers and choosing the volume of the backing tack messed this up a bit for all of them. And of course, Hyunjin singing in a mixed voice is new to him and considering he's still developing his vocals, i didn't expect perfect. I'm more upset about the backing track volume. You should never have to fight the backing track. And here, because their headphones are working like in-ears, they likely aren't even aware of the issue until afterwards or at the very least... near the end. So they wouldn't have even known they needed to make themselves louder. It's times like this when the artist really depends on the studio staff to get things right on their end, or else the end result is flawed. They know the vocal volume and projection that the song SHOULD require, but in this situation, there is a good chance they were none the wiser about the volume error until it was too late.

Hyun sounded just fine to me? That's the vocal tone for this song and perhaps that's what's throwing some people off. He was indeed on beat and all of SKZ did great :) The mix is quite loud this time and they should've turned it down a bit if anything.

Anyone who has been watching long enough knows that you’re a true fan of Stray Kids and that you have zero ill intentions towards the boys. I think on top of what you’ve already mentioned here in the comments such as passers-by and maybe younger fans who don’t know how to be objective, it seems that people become especially triggered when anything perceived as ‘negative’ is said about Hyunjin - I imagine this is due to the fact he has been the target of so much undeserved hate over the years and it looks like trolls have been piping up again recently, such as his Instagram posts being spammed with hate comments .. so this might explain some of the knee-jerk reaction you’ve had here. In any case (143 .. sorry I had to 😅), appreciate the reaction as always, keep doing what your doing Teddy 🤟🏻

Thank you. This is an amazing song. Hyunjin sounded good. Because this is a first take. it wont be exactly as the audio version. But he was on time. Changbin ending verse sounded more off to me than Hyunjin. At least they got all the lyrics this time, not like Bang Chan who missed ABC part of EFG line in Case 143 first take. Spontaneous reactions are not supposed to be all 🤩🥰🥳💓💞💯. Good and bad are both welcome! Hyunjin's voice is really interesting, because in the group his live voice differs the most from recordings. We have Chan, I.N, Seungmin and Han who all sound -the same- in a professional mix and live, we have Changbin and Felix who's emotive powers are always shining through live, we have Lee Know who you'll never know how he'll surprise us. But Hyunjin's voice often go either higher or lower than recordings and his flow differs a bit. Produced his voice sound more generic to me while singing, live he has interesting and captivating qualities. Thank you for your reaction!

I think if a person making 3 mistakes in a row, probably it wasn't mistake at all. Probably some thing that done in purpose. In 3 years I follow SKZ, I found that Hyunjin has various ways of rapping and singing. I got used to it, and never matter if he made sudden change of style. Have a nice 'stay' day, every one.

The way Hyunjin sounded in this is just how he sounds when he sings live. Now don’t come at me bc I don’t wanna sound rude but I feel like Hyunjin just doesn’t sing as well live as som of the other members do and that’s okay. He's a rapper and dancer, not a vocalist. He sounds really good in studio versions but when it comes to actually singing/rapping live he just doesn’t do it as well as the other members. There are some members who are really good at singing live and they sound almost if not exactly the same as they do in their studio versions (Especially Han, Changbin and Seungmin). Now ppl are welcome to fight me on this but imo it’s just a known fact that the most stable and consistent members when it comes to singing/performing live are the three people I mentioned. Now Hyunjin isn’t bad, he just sounds very different from the studio versions and that’s okay to admit. I'm baboracha biased (Han, Lee Know and Hyunjin) and even I can admit that. However he definitely wasn’t off beat in this, he started when he was supposed to.

I commend & appreciate you stating your opinion. A lot of times, if you aren't expressing blind adoration for an idol, you are labeled a hater. But no one can be perfect all of the time, not even Stray Kids who, in my opinion, are about as close to perfect as you can get.

Hyunjin was definitely on time but I share the same sentiment that he wasn't at his best. I think he was trying something different with his dynamics and maybe he's not very used to it yet so it came a bit off? Hyunjin also has a tendency to eat his words when rapping (yknow the lazy rap i dunno how to call it) and I can tell that he's using that tonal quality and placement in his singing here. It's just that it isn't so well suited for this type of song. Always appreciate your honesty teddy! Другой вопрос, что Хёнджин всегда становится мишенью для придирок, упрёков и даже обвинений, ему со стопроцентной вероятностью прилетит за мелкие косяки, которых обычно не замечают у других мемберов или прощают им, а когда зацепиться совсем не за что, ему их просто придумают. Откуда, вы думаете, вырос перфекционизм Хёнджина и его максимальная требовательность к себе? К нему цепляются даже если он безупречен, так что он привык не обращать внимания и просто доводить до совершенства все, что делает. Иногда мне кажется, что ум и чувства некоторых людей просто не в состоянии справиться, сталкиваясь людьми, подобными Хёнджину, они слишком хороши, ненормально хороши, и это то ли пугает, то ли раздражает, заставляя выискивать и придумывать им несуществующие недостатки или даже пороки. Конечно, Хёнджин не идеален, но он ВЫГЛЯДИТ идеальным. Даже когда действительно ошибается, хехе. Думаю, не стоит мешать людям пытаться "приземлить" в собственном сознании таких людей как Хёнджин, пока это не выходит за рамки. Иногда лучше дать им счастливо пребывать в собственном убеждении в том, что они наконец нашли недостатки у того, кто одним своим существованием подвергает их картину мира риску слегка пострадать.

I agree with you...your honesty is very refreshing...Could be that Hyunjin was a lil nervous, or didnt have time to warm up his voice properly..and that's okay...he's already an excellent dancer, rapper and has amazing stage presence and more...I know he will continue to work on his vocals just like the kids will work on areas they want to improve....keep giving HONEST reactions pleaseeeeee

you’re a brave man for pointing out vocal flaws teddy 😂 personally i feel this is consistent with how hyunjin has always sounded live with maybe a bit more scratchiness than usual. the one area I feel like he needs more practice in (and it’s not his fault or anything, just that skz don’t perform ballads live as much) is in modulating his volume to add more texture esp when it’s a softer song and it’s a live performance - it’s all in the breathing!

I believe that Hyunjin missed 1 sec of drop because later the same part Felix did ideal. ❤I agree Hyunjin is on my bias list i love him but he felt tired a bit or maybe worried as it’s a hard song to perform. In song itself he did such a great job.
