I was a big Genesis-era fan and got this on VHS in 1999 along with a Neogeo Pocket Color with Sonic Pocket Adventure. Movie came on a white cassette and I wore it out within a few years haha. Pretty much quit giving a shit about Sonic after Adventure 2 on Dreamcast. Emo Shadow, hiphop Knuckles, whatever the hell Rouge was... yeah, it was just a bridge too far and super lame trying too hard to be serious. Sonic works best with Scratch and Grounder slapstick or the OVA's tone.

What sucks is that when I was younger I was a DIE HARD sonic fan probably like a bunch of six year olds my age and at the time I just figured started playing sonic CD and figuring out that this had metal sonic and the figure 8 pose kind of stood out to me as a little tips so I could beat the game and that this was an amazing anime. The storyline was just as original as any sonic storyline, and that they had a fair share of action and comedy and enough references to make any huge sonic fan smile but that no one talks about it and is super underrated, and that it doesn’t get enough popularity as a deserves.😢😢
