Consider a bat that is infected with several deadly viruses, including ones that cause rabies, SARS, and Ebola. While this diagnosis would be lethal for other mammals, the winged wonder is totally unfazed, and may even spend the next 30 years living as if this were totally normal- because for bats, it is. While this is really interesting, it didn't explain why this leads to bats being fine. Why wouldn't the virus just immediately proliferate and consume the bat if there's no immune response? It's not like they're intelligent and know they need to keep the host alive. They just multiply.

WNS is very different than much of what is described in this video. it is a cold loving fungus that disrupts bats in hibernation. If their sleep is disrupted frequently they can die from starvation/energy depletion. I hope this helps! Look up BATCON for more info ❤️

The Covid that we get has already had the ability to transmit to people. So, no gain in function. It doesn't mean that Covid could not be from the lab.
