It's kind of like road bicycles, often they have the $hittiest rubber tires and often aluminum wheelsets because they know you're going to put your favorite road course tires and favorite carbon wheelsets on it so no real point giving something expensive that you won't use anyways so they slap something cheap on it for starting with. I do think there should be a stripped down no wheels option, but then we might end up with a no-seats, np wheels, no brakes, no engine option and just be buying a frame (which would be good for some)

He said the car was from Ace Performance. They’re located in Tewksbury, Massachusetts which is north of Boston. There are lots of great roads in New England for driving. I live in northwest Connecticut and it’s the same here: lots of winding hilly or mountain roads, and lots of empty back roads. The only problem is you can’t go very far without running into state or local police, and many of the secondary roads have lots of potholes that are often very deep and wide. You can also forget about spirited driving most of the year because of snow and ice.

I'm just starting to get to grips with mine and it's crazy how different the experience is in different settings. I've been a passenger with a pro on a race circuit and it's savage compared to other supercars. Last week I took it on a drift track with the same pro to practice some car control. Great fun and learnt a lot in under an hour but when he drove it around the drift track it was awesome and terrifying as a drift machine in equal measure. Then drove home at under the speed limit on the motorway and it's very very intimidating due to how exposed you feel. Then finally I took it for a blast on some local country roads on a sunny evening last night with no helmet and no windscreen and it was just fabulous without going over the speed limit (lots of pot holes and still very cautious). Now counting the hours before I can go out again. I can't imagine a better sports/super car.

I always find it funny when car guys experience even remotely decent Power to weight ratios, motorbikes give you that even from rather underwhelming bikes, then again combined with the usual lack of wind protection it really desensitises your feeling of speed, it's a bit of a shame because nothing under 700hp/tonne will ever feel crazy fast to you anymore... That does look like a weapon on track though, but not sure it's "90 grand" good.

@Beau Gus True, but that's mainly because of the different cornering philosophies. You're still looking at 100k+ cars to approach superbike cornering speeds, the difference is that in a car it's very easy to reach the limit of corner speed whereas on a bike it's extremely difficult to be confident in carrying speed through a corner. There is big differences even between WSBK and Super Stock corner speeds, let alone between your average street rider vs a MotoGP rider. In cars, even your average decent driver can extract 90% of a car's potential, same can't be said for bikes. Back to the philosophies, even with knowing all this, you simply gotta use what you have, the worse your power to weight ratio, the more you got to rely on keeping your speed up, therefore high corner speeds, whereas with bikes, since they have extreme power to weight ratios, it's actually faster to stretch every straight section of the track to be as long as possible, by braking very late and very hard, quickly making the turn and then getting on the gas as soon as possible.

it's interesting as someone who got used to bikes before cars (though I haven't ridden a bike in a few years). The 125 I had pulled harder then some of the cars I've driven. That said, yeah, you're *extremely aware* of the pavement on two wheels, and I probably wouldn't go anywhere near a liter-bike's potential even though I feel like I could take one around the block without killing myself.

This really is a wonderful video - for fans of the Atom and everyone else. Side note: I didn't realise you had roundabouts in the US. Nice to see (for some reason ;)

I just got my home theater audio system up and going and your videos sound utterly insane with the binaural audio! My right speaker got a workout with that induction noise though! 😂

So something cool just happened. Rewatched this vid yesterday just because I was lusting over an Atom 4. I’m a truck driver btw and when I watched it, I stopped in Virginia on my way to Massachusetts. Mind you I’m from Atlanta and I’ve NEVER been to MA before lol. My route up here took me around 495 from 90 east all the way to 93 S. When I tell you I instantly knew where I was at. Like the ramp onto 93 looked so familiar and I knew it was that chicane corner from this video. And I didn’t even know the video was filmed here. My jaw DROPPED from the coincidence 😅
