Just bought one after watching many reviews. Unfortunately, I'm already mourning the loss of my 2011 335i - the amazing steering feel of the e90 in combo with the N55 was a driver's dream. This car seemed more sporty on paper, but the lack of connection through the steering wheel is killing the whole experience for me. Wish I could take it back. .... Update: after a tune and some Dinan springs w/dampers, this car is much much more enjoyable! Still lacks steering feel, but the chassis handles beautifully and now there's enough power to scoot it sideways out of an apex.

I love the roads in North Carolina. Was down at the Tail of the Dragon twice when I had my Evo, and now that I'm getting a BRZ I definitely need to get back there again. Just lovely, lovely roads all throughout the mountains. Definitely someplace my wife and I are thinking about moving to when we retire (as long as I'm still driving!).

What we really want... a high revving NA straight 6 in a RWD 6MT 2 series. Maybe in another few years someone will try a swap and it'll be glorious!

exiges that is what a previous gen 128i m sport with a 3 stage intake and some M suspension parts to make it just right. In manual of course

Adaptive Suspension actually comes with Track Handling Package. M Package gets you non adaptive M-sport suspension. I'd love to see a 228i vs 230i comparison; N20 vs B48. B48 is suppose to be more linear but has less hp/torque overall from Dyno specsheets.

Yeah you don't get the good suspension with M Sport. They're basically $3k seats and better tires off the lot. Sounds like bullshit to me.

Definitely drive a Mk7 GTI with the optional diff and brakes before making a decision. It's one of my favorite cars and comes at a bargain and I think i'd take it over the bimmer

You are absolutely right...the next round of 2 series comparisons will feature the 230i and 240i. I'm really hoping the 240i smooths out some of my gripes with the M235i

The M235i only came with the N55. The early 135i and the 1M use an N54 though.

This is probably the way to spec the 2 series. My spouse didn't want the manual so we got the automatic which is also brilliant....just not as much fun.

My grandparents lived outside of Franklin that's further west from where you are it's more remote more Hills more curves driving up through the clouds down through the clouds it's can be an awesome ride he always got to look out for the cops they don't like people from up North they're jerks and my grandma always used to say watch out for those Baptists hahaha she really did I love riding on these rides though must be an awesome Dr

Honestly the whole 28i models are underrated, I have a 128i and driven a 135i very great car don't get me wrong but there's something about the NA L6 intake whine that is currently preventing me from selling my baby haha. But I do have a question I am looking at the M235i vs the 228i which one would you recommend? I'm all about night cruises and mountain runs just to give you an idea.

I don't understand what the point of getting Msport suspension is when you're getting the track package with adaptive suspension. Paying for wheels...? Whatever. They come with summer tires but you can buy those easily. The only point of the M Sport package I see is the seats. So it's a $4k package with $1k of tires, those are $3k seats. And an aero kit I couldn't give half a shit about.

typical..you want this; add this pkg first...you want something else, you have to add yet another pkg to be allowed the privilege to add what you really want. Same goes for the A-Spec pkg with Acura that makes the A-Sepc treatment $7.5k later. I'm not sure what worse, this, or Porsche's ala cart method? Why is the 'base' car so horrible that owners are forced into packages (I know why), but I guess that is why everything is negotiable. 2 Series or BRZ-PP?

Adaptive suspension is part of the M package, so you'd lose quite a lot along with it. I'm not a spec expert with BMW but you may/may not be able to still opt the track package without the M package. Track pack gives you the nice brakes.

The M Sport "design" includes the following features per the BMW Build site(e.g. NO Adaptive Suspension): SiriusXM Satellite Radio with 1-year All Access Subscription Ambient Lighting Aerodynamic kit M steering wheel Universal garage-door opener Auto-dimming rearview mirror Auto-dimming interior and driver exterior mirrors Moonroof Comfort Access keyless entry Rear spoiler Shadowline exterior trim Lumbar support 18" M Double-spoke ferric grey metallic wheels, style 461M with performance run-flat tires M sport suspension By omitting the Track Package which includes: M Sport Brakes, Variable sport steering and Adaptive M Suspension, you would have the M-Sport suspension; not the Adaptive Suspension. For my $.02; I'd go just the other way if watching my $.....Sport design with Track Package to get you the better brakes, steering and suspension bits.

It's similar to the Kancamagus highway. It's a great road but its full of tourists driving 25mph or just STOPPING in the middle of the road to take a photo. There are roads off off the BRP that are more desolate and and exciting.

If you wanted a slow decently handling, why not get a brz? I feel any series with a "28i" at the end of it is just a statues symbol. For the people who want to say "I drive a BMW."

Because these aren't slow, BRZ is slow, lol. These are reasonably quick especially modded, plus good ZF trans in the 8 speed, and don't have the rice rocket stigma. They're just better cars for not a lot more money.

Even ignoring the torque dip flaw on BRZ you get this because it's turbo charged and 310HP 400Nm with a few bolt-ons are levels BRZ can never reach.
