Finally this long awaited video came up!😉 After seeing your review on these bags I would have choosen the Absiko Hike 35. Feels like a more versatile bag. And if you look att the price point of these bags then the Hike wins all day long! Nice video my friend! Keep em comin!😁💪✌️

Nice mic ! I would use it for improving some audio on our videos, capturing more nature sounds. Hoping to finish up a bunch of unfinished video projects this winter! Finally the comparison on these bags I’ve been looking for. Cost difference is a big step between the two also. $120 cad. I’m keen on the Abisko, but the detachable lid is nice on the kajka!

Hands down: Fjällräven does awesome Backbacks. I'm using the Keb 30 for normal tours and a Helags 40 for multiple day trips. Both are just outstanding in durability. I've done some backpacking trips in Thailand and China with the Helags and gave it really a rough time but it still looks nearly new and I'm using it more than 10 years in the woods now. Just incredible. These packs are worth every Penny, the Kajka and Abisko as well imo. Great video as usual. 💕

Nice review of the backpacks! I recently got the Bergtagen 30. Pack looks amazing and durable, haven't been able to try it out yet, wonder if you have it and are trying it out? Or comparing it to the 38L version of it. The reason to win the microphones is not for me, but for my wife actually. Her birthday is coming up and I'm going to get her the Go Pro 11, by that time we will also have a new Golden Retriever pup with us, along with our dog of 7 years now, mix of a Bernersennen and Leonberger, she has been very keen on making videos of the doggies and has some social medias where she's posting the videos on (: I think along with the Go Pro and the mics she will be able to make some cleaner content and enjoy the videos much more :D Thanks for the vids you're putting up, I enjoy the content, keep it up Ted!

After seeing both in person, I would have to say I would prefer the Abisko 35. Lighter weight, love the deep side pockets for a water bottle or whatever else you might need to stash away. The top load is not a problem. I'm always hanging around for the secret endings. I dont have a nice camera, just a Go Pro and my phone, so I dont think the mic would work? How I would use it; a review of my Skule Top 26 and future Classic Treks.

Great video, seems you had a great time in Greece as well!! As for the microphones, I’m building on some ideas/stuff for creating videos and edits so it would be a huuuge improvement on the audio side the be able to use microphones. And not rely on the internal mic of the cameras .. which are quite frankly crappy 😅

I have amongst other packs, a Kajka 65L, a Bergtagen 30L and the Bergtagen 38L All wear well, long lasting and they don't break easy. Kajka is heavy though, but perfect shoulder adjustment in width. I want a Mountain Equipment 50-75L next. I want to see the Bergtagen material in the Kajka series. That would be more weather proof and lighter as well. And stronger. Thanks for sharing. Kind regards.

I think the Kajka line wins out for larger bags, but the Kajka 35 seems too small for what’s essentially a colder weather bag. I’ve looked at the Abisko Hike 35 a lot, but I can’t see it replacing my Abisko Friluft 35, although I think that’s what Fjällräven has done.
@TedWeirum
@TedWeirum Жыл бұрын

@Dragon1276 I disagree. The Kajka is a modular backpack - you can add side pockets, you can add a chest pack, you can attach all kinds of stuff to it - the frame will deal with it all. It can function as a 45 Litre backpack for trekking or as a 30 Litre backpack for a day hike. It's very flexible. And why do you reduce it to cold weather? There is some airflow. You cant have great airflow, a mesh back etc. and a very sturdy and comfortable suspension system at the same time.
@Dragon1276
@Dragon1276 Ай бұрын
@@MH-mf9ei Cold-weather items are not heavy but they are bulky. This is the issue with a small bag that is designed from the starting point of a cold-weather pack. The details of an ice axe holder and no back ventilation inform its use. In the USA, hot weather is regularly 27ºC-32ºC whereas in Europe many people think 18ºC-22ºC is hot, and Americans in most places typically do not start wearing any kind of cold-weather jackets until around 5ºC.

After tearing a hole in my Kajka75 pack after less than a year of use, I don't think either the Kajka or Abisko line are right for me. Vinylon might be good for schoolchildren's Kankens, but I don't think it is hard wearing enough for proper adventures. Keb line is about the only thing that holds up to the amount of wear and tear my items receive. Unfortunately in the US it looks like they no longer sell the Keb Hike 30. Fjallraven makes baffling product decisions sometimes. I would like to see a Keb 40L, and more Bergshell in their products in general.
@GetUpTheMountains
@GetUpTheMountains Жыл бұрын
The front loading on each of these packs is nice. The lack of a hydration hose port on the Kajka is another baffling Fjallraven design decision. If I wanted a sweaty summer dayhike bag for the mountains, I might try the Abisko 35, it looks about as robust as Gregory/Osprey bags. Tall mesh side pockets are far superior to the Kajka's. Even the 75 has fairly lowrise side pockets. That logo on the Abisko it is far too Kankeny, I much prefer the leather shield. End result: both of these are a pass for me.

@@TedWeirum Hi Ted. This is Rob, I just like to blow up my YT channel every now and again. Anonymity is my preferred mode. Kajka is chillin' with a hole in it. 🤷‍♂ I have plans at some point to go to a Fjallraven store to get some pants tailored, and I'm hoping I can get them to give me a square of Vinylon that I can sew on as a patch myself. The hole isn't huge (yet), so I'm really just hoping to prevent it from getting bigger. The rest of the Kajkaness I like. Should've just gone with the Keb72 in retrospect, but for winter mountain camping with big bulky items, the front-loading of the Kajka tipped the scales in that direction. Keb 85 with front-loading, where are you?

Hey Ted, great video as always 👍 I bought the Kajka 35 in august this year. I wore it on a 2-day tour with a weight of 24 kg. It was a little overloaded but still very stable and comfortable to wear. Everything I usually have in my Keb 72, I was able to pack into the Kajka 35 with a little optimization. I was totally surprised 🤔 So i will take it with me on the next tour, but with a maximum weight of 20 kg 😊
