Hey Carrie, If you want some stimulating guidance for thought on discovering the "WHY" sociologically and anthropologically watch some material by Simon Sinek. I hope you haven't submitted your essay as of yet because this gentleman has a unique perspective on why we do the things we do. Best of luck to you. Just promise me that after you get in to say hi to my brother William H. Carpenter whom had passed. He wrestled for Brown! Just as you are currently doing with your thoughts. He would have helped you as well.

One of the best professors at Brown. I had the opportunity to be enrolled in his last introductory bio class (he is retiring this year). It was one of the most intriguing courses I have taken in my entire life of studying. He is the professor that propelled my curiosity in learning new ideas and ultimately solidified my learning in medicine. Thank you Professor Miller!
