This feels SO relevant now since the pandemic. Hospital workers need artists as well. The entire hospital environment

This is one of the most interesting and beautiful lectures I have ever watched... Congratulations! I am a doctor, I am an artist but... I am a patient too, suffering from MS. I have to confess from my heart, that nothing helped me more than Art therapy in my life until now... Neuroplasticity thrives 🌷

Jill, what a fabulous talk! Listening to your story about the past twenty years of continuing to work with your creativity and helping to grow Arts in Medicine into viable and quantifiable applications in Shands and other hospitals just made me so happy. Thank you for your decades of dedication, your beautiful and gentle way of being and inspiring others to open up to their creativity. When I was a little girl I learned to dig my fingernail into my thumb and concentrate on that 'feeling' so I wouldn't feel the needle stick when receiving a shot or having my blood drawn. The way focusing on 'art' decreases a patient's pain and anxiety is very real. Your movement dance program is amazing....and the music in the ER program is exciting. Congratulations to you and all your artists!

This is what I experience when I have used my ballet exercises to get to the place where my balance is not affected....I am a Stroke Survivor and this has helped me immeasurably and is able to continue rehabilitation.....Jill is speaking the truth....where I am concerned...based on my experiences at this stage of development.

And the creativity that I enjoy to organise myself in using the exercises that afford the fine hand and eye co-ordination to be honed up...helping to make the synapses connect in the brain again.

When my son was on life support in the ICU because of a stroke, I played music by his favorites... Bob Marley, Mozart and Metallica. He emerged from the induced coma singing : Marley's :three little birds"...Art heals

If you tie medical applications to proposals, funding can be fast tracked. This goes for a lot of fields.
