Jake Davis is at the forefront of global cyber security and changing the way we look at hackers. TEDxTeen opening music by Madijuwon.
Jake is Head of Hacking at SPYSCAPE - an edutainment company focused on spying and hacking.
As a teenager, under the online alias "Topiary", Jake was involved in high profile hacking groups Anonymous and LulzSec, which exploited corporations and governmental organisations for political reasons. Targets included the Westboro Baptist Church, The Sun newspaper, and government websites in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, and Zimbabwe, in support of protesters during the Arab Spring in 2011.
Jake was arrested aged 18, was banned from the Internet for two years, and spent time in a Young Offender's Institute.
He has been featured as a cyber security expert in many news outlets and programmes, including The Guardian, BBC Newsnight, Vice, Wired, Sky News, Esquire Magazine, and Fantastic Man magazine. Jake has also received bug bounties / Hall of Fame credits for disclosing vulnerabilities to Apple, Facebook, Twitter, Google, and many more.
Jake has a keen interest in blending hacking and art, and has worked with various theatre companies and venues, including The Royal Court and The Battersea Arts Centre as well as advising creatively on TV, film and radio.
Jake's biggest passion, and the focus of his work at SPYSCAPE, is bringing the psychologies and nuances behind hacking and the wider internet community to a mainstream audience in a creative, unique way, with a view to raising awareness and knowledge around important cyber issues.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

He's still alive, that alone tells me he probably either sold out his friends who didn't already snitch to the govt and started working for the govt in return for his life/freedom; or that the govt just decided to let a brilliant hacker who could be of future use to them just leave their custody and go on with his life...... Which one do you think is true?

Fun Fact: Jake "Topiary" Davis is a genius with number and maths. His mother bought him a Calculator with which he played with while sitting in a cart while grocery shopping lol Also , if you want to learn more about Topiary and even some others like Sabu, Kayla, TFlow, William etc then read "We Are Anonymous" by Parmy Olson , great read

Is ddosing the easiest way of shutting down an account or website. If so what are some of the harder ways to shut an account down? because I know anonymous use ddos a lot
@vimalsheoran8040
@vimalsheoran8040 6 жыл бұрын
DDoSing is like, putting a green light on a signal when there is a traffic jam ahead. This jam though consists of data packets. Usually ddosing involves creating a zombie net, which is a large number of computers hacked by someone. Then, he will send a request to a particular website say CNBC and then suddenly the incoming requests increase and your servers might not respond to user requests anymore and the users will experience a Denial-of-Service by the site. The request packets from the zombie net can also be crafted to suit some specific purposes, eventhough it is mostly experimental.

He is a cool guy, I like him - but what does that have to do with THE PLANET? The planet houses a giant eco-system, thousands of species living together in a (kind of) balance! A miracle, and most likely alone in the universe. A man fiddling with computers has nothing to do with that greatness beyond human hobbies. Although I like that he speaks up agains Hatred comments in the web.
