Those high educated women might have found their happiness and true satisfaction from working at home rather than competing with others for a high position in work place. Just because the society now needs such contributive jobs as surgeons, polices, scientists, it doesn't mean the definition of a successful life is high-salary and working most of the time, it doesn't mean working at home is any less successful, and it definitely doesn't mean high educated women should choose work over home because they are obligated to change this "male dominated society"... Just choose what you like and don't perceive everything as an issue of equality:)

I don't think a refusal to make sacrifices at home is a bad thing. Your children only have one childhood, that's the only guaranteed time you have with them. You can have a career any time.

I believe there are other factors to take into consideration when one is looking at their work life balance.Personally,I'm in position where I could advance into an Executive Leadership role. I chose not to do so because I currently work normal business hours from home and homeschool my son. I realize if I were to take an advancement additional working hours would be required and the flexibility I once had may be gone. Sometimes the advancement isn't worth the additional working hours and increased responsibility.

How this talk speaks to me right now, is unreal! For 5 years, since getting my kids, i've struggled to do just that, and it's still an ongoing struggle, i.e. balancing the life of work with children and still maintaining one's sense of identity. It must really be an ongoing journey, so thanks for your honesty and raised concerns on this chat, it helped me put things into perspective. I'm ambitious, but not at the cost of a balanced life with myself and family..

look all these comments, just proved your point. Men have no idea what they've done to suffocate women and they still think it is fair. It is like the world is holding a competition and it is so fair that anyone could enter, men or women, children or oddly, except the even itself is wrestling .

Did make sense in some way. But I still believe that it's more about women's own choice to stop their work, not the disability to compete with men.
@danielzza1009 жыл бұрын
+Joan Shu it's like you muted the video when you watched it... I'm curious as to why you believe something that has a counter argument that's backed up with scientific research? just a 'gut feeling' eh? Must be more trustworthy than evidence.
@joanshu22209 жыл бұрын
+Callum Greenaway One of the implication the research shows in the video is that women who are less ambitious to work think their sacrifices aren't equally paid,and the people who succeeded in that field of career are men. So you think why men are more successful in certain kind of jobs than women is because women can not compete with men?

Women are overrepresented in the fields of education, justice and medical professions. Why nobody ever complains of lack of men in those fields? Why should be necessarily impose half men half women quotas in jobs that are occupied by men? What is the agenda behind this? Everybody gets excited when a woman is doing construction work like it's a particulary good thing that a woman is doing a man's job.
@icepixi149 жыл бұрын
Because patriarchy is the main one in control, and however matriarchy is a very rule and true thing with its own set of problems; it's usually seen as under so they're not as represented. Hey, if you're upset about that, you yourself can make something about it. Instead of critiquing how someone is not perfect, use them as a fuel for inspiration. :)

+Jin Kazama most of my fav teachers are men. I also think that women are viewed more dominate in those areas is because they are looked up to as a motherly figure.
@jinkazama90159 жыл бұрын
+Cheryl Evans There are way too many women in education and I really think it's a problem for the education of boys especially yet nobody would adress this problem. We only hear that we need more women CEOs. Look at the female CEOs they behave like men, but worse. They bring nothing to this field.
@icepixi149 жыл бұрын
Instead of commenting on how one isn't doing something the way you want them to, do that something, use it as inspiration, for yourself, to write or so that something for yourself or in the world, and boom, more good material out there.

I thought it was just me. I was looking for a way that 'I' can balance my life better. It doesn't help me now to look at the big picture on why society itself does not allow that balance. The hustle & bustle of society is set up for people not to succeed as individuals.
